Very disappointing – I wouldn't return
I have recently returned from El Pueblo Tamlelt and unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel.
I'll start with the positive: the pools were clean and probably the best part of the hotel. However, they weren't heated, so the water could be very cold. Unfortunately, even around the pools many of the sunbeds were very old, worn or broken and clearly needed replacing.
The accommodation itself is extremely dated and desperately needs investment. The electrical sockets in my room were in a terrible state, the shower was barely usable with only a few drips of water coming from the shower head, the bathroom fittings were heavily covered in limescale and the sink took forever to drain.
I didn't ask to change rooms because, after speaking to other guests and hearing about the problems they were having with their rooms, I actually felt I had one of the better ones and didn't want to risk being moved somewhere worse.
The food was probably my biggest disappointment. We were all-inclusive but found the food very bland and frequently cold. It got to the point where we chose to go out and pay to eat elsewhere, which obviously added considerably to the cost of an all-inclusive holiday.
There were also stained items of hotel laundry/linen, which added to the overall impression that standards simply weren't where they should be.
My sister, who arrived before me, experienced much more serious issues during her stay, including money/property going missing from her room on multiple occasions. This was reported and ultimately became serious enough for her to make a report to the police. She was also moved from her original room after suffering numerous insect bites.
We also became uncomfortable after appearing to catch members of hotel staff filming my sister and her friend around the pool. I want to be clear that I cannot say why they were filming, but it made us uncomfortable.
The frustrating thing is that this hotel could actually be lovely. The grounds and pools have potential, and there were staff members who were friendly. But the rooms, maintenance, food and general standard desperately need attention.
I went determined to make the best of my holiday and we did have some great experiences outside the hotel, but I would not stay at El Pueblo Tamlelt again. Having experienced it myself, I'm genuinely surprised that major UK holiday companies are still offering this property without significant improvements being made.
This hotel is rather dated yes, but it's cheap. The only thing that ruined it for me (an English girl), was the swarms of foul mouthed binge drinking English people shouting and leaving rubbish everywhere and moaning about about everything. Get to Benidorm where you belong 👍👍
So bad bed was so hard but dont worry you won't sleep at night here not a clean hotel and the food we if you can eat it your lucky as dont think the roaming dog will even eat it
Everything great,other than Rooms.Wifi only in Public areas.Not gauranteed airconditioning, I had to beg for it.Rooms badly need updating Doors need replacing,v poor decor Cleaning staff in fairness do a great job everyday.Beds are clean & comfortable Our shower was good & always worked but alot of customers were complaing about water cold.Food was ok but bit repetitive.hygine wasnt great but staff in dining areas, couldnt do enough for you & very friendly Good variety of alcoholic & soft drinks,Ques at pool bar sometimes a prob but staff done theyre best 5 lovely swimming pools.
good location and friendly staff, now here is the problem with this place, rooms were very very not up to standard what you pay for. had no aircon or anything and had to keep my back door constantly open to actually get air in especially when it was like 40 degree weather, dirty shower and alot of ants, quite possibly the worst room ive stayed in out of every country ive been to. you dont get what you paid for the food was absolutely awful to the point i would have 2 things of my plate and most of it was chips which were by the way freezing whenever we got them, the food had also made me sick so that was somethin.. with the food also it was very repetative and u would hope to be warm atleast, i wouldnt really like to microwave my meal which i would hope would be up to standard anyway. the bar staff are possibly the worst bar staff ive seen, i would be waiting there for a good 10 mins and some woman comes up and gets served straight away.. so proffesional of them. there was no ice barely and i had seen a ice machine at the back which looked full of ice. warm drinks but atleast there was cold beer which would be cold until 2 mins after and if you did get ice they would either give you one piece or 2, i get it can get busy but everyone would like their drinks cold in that kind of weather. the animation staff were friendly with everyone atleast but want to flirt with women instead of focusing of their job sometimes.. and also they are very picky with guests in the dining area, tried to sit down in alot of places and got told no instantly cause there was a bowl of fruit on it??? so what im not gonna eat some dry fruit anyway, so i was walking round like an absolute melon with a plate of some food around... which was cold as i said.. and found the entertainment... entertaining atleast. the air stunk like sewers also which was not nice.. i wouldnt come back personally to this hotel as its run down and seriously needs some refurbishment of all sorts, looked like its not really been touched since 1986 when it first opened. also do a touch up of the rooms, im sure more AC wouldnt do no harm.
