Caribbean Village Agador

We stayed at Caribbean Village Club Agador for seven nights and, despite a few positives, I am giving the hotel one star because the basic standards were unacceptable.

The outdoor areas were cleaned daily and generally looked well maintained. There are several pools and plenty of sunbeds, so finding somewhere to sit was not a problem. The hotel also had a diverse mix of guests, including many Moroccan families and visitors from different European countries. I liked the relaxed, culturally varied atmosphere, with guests wearing everything from bikinis to fully covering swimwear.

The location is convenient. The beach is within walking distance, and there are many shops, pharmacies, restaurants and vendors nearby. Be prepared to haggle and agree prices before buying, as tourists may initially be quoted much higher prices. The transfer from Agadir Airport took approximately 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. Our first-floor room faced the street, but the balcony door did not lock. This was a serious security concern because somebody could potentially access the room from outside. We asked twice to change rooms. Reception wrote down our room number and told us to return around midday, but when we came back later, they said it was too late and did not arrange anything.

The room and bathroom were dated and poorly maintained. The shower hose and fittings were visibly rusty, and the water pressure was frequently little more than a weak trickle, especially in the afternoon before dinner. On some days, there was also a foul smell inside the room.

We were initially given only one towel for two people and had to ask for another. Our towels were not properly changed during the entire seven-night stay, apart from the floor towel. Toiletries were not replenished either. When I eventually asked for some, I was given two tiny bottles.

The Wi-Fi was effectively unusable. It did not work inside the room, restaurant or most other hotel buildings apart from reception. It sometimes connected outdoors, but the signal was weak, unreliable and regularly disconnected.

The restaurant was extremely hot, overcrowded and chaotic. There was little queue management, and people constantly pushed in front of others. My seven-year-old daughter was pushed aside and left crying on several occasions. Queues for popular food were very long, and the indoor cooking area made the whole experience sweaty and exhausting.

Food quality was inconsistent and sometimes concerning. Several salads smelled sour and did not seem fresh. Some cheese also appeared stale or to have been left out too long. I found a bug in the pepper salad. Staff apologised, but the salad was not removed or replaced while I was there. Vegetarian and child-friendly choices were very limited. My daughter mainly ate the small pancakes at breakfast, but only two were given at a time, meaning repeated trips through the crowded restaurant. The freshly cooked eggs were one of the better options, but the same mixing bowl was used for different customers without being cleaned between combinations. Spices from previous orders remained in the bowl, so my daughter’s supposedly plain eggs tasted strongly seasoned and she could not eat them. Even the lime served with drinks was dried out and brown inside, reinforcing my concerns about the freshness and quality of the food being served.

Even tissues were rationed. We normally received one thin tissue each. When my daughter spilled a drink over herself, we were still given only two small tissues.

The drinking water tasted very unpleasant, so we ended up buying bottled water from local shops despite having booked all-inclusive. Drinks were served in tiny disposable plastic cups, which were completely inadequate in the Moroccan heat. Larger cups or bottles were generally refused, although a few helpful bar staff sometimes gave us the stronger cups used for alcoholic drinks.

The snack bar was open only from 3 pm until 5 pm. Guests had to sit down and order, service was slow, and the food consisted mainly of chips, burgers and very hard, dry chicken nuggets. There was no proper vegetarian option.

A major concern was the pool water. It turned our swimwear, goggles, hats, beach scarves and the extensions in our hair braids green. Although the pool areas were cleaned daily, water that visibly stains guests’ belongings cannot be considered properly maintained. The massage I booked was excellent and was one of the best parts of the holiday. However, the manicure and pedicure were extremely poor. There was minimal dead-skin removal, no proper shaping, no base coat, top coat or oils, and toenails were shaped using nail clippers.

Some bar and restaurant staff were genuinely kind. When I became unwell, they gave me fresh mint with hot water, and a member of staff helped arrange for medication to be obtained from a pharmacy. Those individuals deserve recognition.

However, friendly staff and tidy outdoor grounds cannot compensate for an insecure room, rusty fittings, extremely weak water pressure, inadequate housekeeping, unusable Wi-Fi, concerning food standards, pool water that stained our belongings and a stressful restaurant environment. I would not return.

food is awful we ate out after a couple of days the all ins drinking are very limited and ice creams for the kids you have to pay

please just avoid yes its cheap but Jesus just go camping at home this would be cleaner

We have just returned from a 10 day stay I read all the bad reviews before I come and decided I would make up my own mind when I got there. To say I was shocked is an understatement. This hotel is dirty and dangerous and should not be sold from any travel agent. The food was awful, and I had diarrhoea and sickness for five out of the 10 days The swimming pool looked dirty and uninviting and this was my first holiday that I’ve never used the swimming pool. Yes, it is true. I was looking for a budget holiday. In the past, I have been to Majorca and Minorca in budget hotels and I’ve never been disappointed. We thought we would like to try Morocco. All I can say is, I will never return. On one of our days out, we met a local Moroccan man who warned us to stay together be safe and don’t eat the hotel food, he went on to say that the hotel was bankrupt and corrupt. We witnessed several allegations of things go missing from rooms. On a positive note, the staff worked very hard doing an impossible job in a rundown hotel. I cannot be blamed for the state of the hotel. Every day the gardeners were doing the grounds and you could see back in the day this would’ve been an amazing hotel sadly it has now gone to ruin Please do your own research for you book this hotel
