Villa Makassar is one of those rare places where every detail feels considered. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, yet the whole experience remained relaxed, personal and completely unforced.
The riad itself is beautiful, immaculate and wonderfully tranquil. Our room, Room 10, had genuine wow factor. It was beautifully presented, exceptionally clean and felt like a real sanctuary after a day exploring Marrakech.
The food was another highlight. There is a real sense of local quality rather than touristy Moroccan cooking, and the service throughout was superb. Try the gris wine and, if available, any of the slow-cooked beef or other land dishes. Absolutely delicious.
There is also a lovely sense of theatre throughout the hotel. The surroundings, architecture, food and service combine to make the whole experience feel special without ever becoming pretentious.
And the value is exceptional. For somewhere offering this level of quality, attention to detail and service, it feels remarkably well priced.
If you want the ultimate Marrakech experience in a peaceful setting, this is where you go. Use the hotel’s own airport shuttle too. It makes the arrival and departure completely seamless.
One final detail we loved: the Villa Makassar brand is everywhere throughout the property. It gives the whole experience a wonderfully cohesive and personal feel.

Just wonderful. So peaceful but only a short walk from the square and madness of the souks. The pool is so lovely, and the rooftop terrace is a perfect hideaway with the (cold) hot tub. Stylish peaceful, filled with care and warmth of welcome. Slept so well, wonderfully well set out for relaxation. Close to everywhere on foot, if you want.
Staff was exceedingly kind & attentive. Accommodations were excellent! Very clean and rooms made you feel like royalty. Loved it!!
