Extremely disappointed with this stay. The hotel self is fine the staf is the problem. first off all everyone speaks very bad English. When we arrived, we had to wait two hours longer than promised before we could enter our room. Once we finally got in, we discovered that the shower was broken. We then had to wait another three hours for someone to come and take a look, only for nothing to be done. We had to complain ourselves before we were finally given another room.
During our stay, there were construction works everywhere, with absolutely no consideration for disabled guests. With a wheelchair, it was extremely difficult to get around.
We also found hair in our food several times. The animation team was extremely pushy and rude And then on top of that, one of the entertainment staff was smoking in the disabled toilet. We were also given mocktails instead of cocktails without being asked, simply because there was a complete lack of communication. The “New” towels you get in Ur room are stained.
The hotel states that you can request a late check-out, but when we asked, they didn’t even check whether it was possible and simply said, “No.”
There was absolutely no consideration for disabled guests who need extra rest, and no effort was made to go the extra mile for their guests.
The staff in the restaurants were the only ones who were friendly. Overall, the service and organisation were extremely disappointing. We will definitely not be coming back
Don't waste your money. Staff are lovely. The pool area good. Everything else, can't wait to get home to eat. All inclusive!!! Asked for a prosecco tonight, I was told to pay at reception. Would not recommend. All I can say, it was an experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Riu. The staff are WONDERFUL especially the pool and restaurant staff. I would say the reception staff are less on the friendly side and could do with more staff which can speak English as the language barrier made it difficult. They had plenty of sunbeds even if you came later and wasn’t the standard “sun bed wars” The food is basic buffet and could do with some more variety but the lamb tagine was lovely. One issue I did have was with the free shuttle service to the Medina was very unclear. No clear signage to say this was the bus or anyone calling the names of the “booked” list. Apart from that I had a lovely stay and would come back.
We had a 12 day stay at this hotel - checking in was a little problematic due to how I had booked the extra room - totally my issue but it was dealt with with minimal fuss . We had booked with Tui but then added a new booking so had booked directly with the hotel We have stayed here twice before so we recognised some faces . There was a relaxed atmosphere and to be honest there was a choice of sun loungers ( however if you wanted the island that was always reserved by 8 ) but we didn’t so it wasn’t an issue - we tend to plump for a quiet spot so we can rotate like a sundial !! Rooms were clean spacious and well serviced - the hallways to rooms were cleaned every day and there was always cleaning going on somewhere . The staff are phenomenal- every member of the hotel are a credit and will go out of their way to help . Food was good and there was plenty of choice - and the evening meal has that added touch of elegance . The lobby was clean and relaxing . The animation team worked hard , and I must say a huge thank you to Ismail who worked on the pool bar and evening bar as he was fantastic. We were due to go home the day of the air traffic delays in the uk and I must say we were at a clear advantage by booking with TUI who took us back to the hotel and then picked us up later once they knew the flights were confirmed- so we just carried on . If you want some sun , a relax and to be looked after then this hotel is just the ticket
