Location, location, location. Literally 5 minutes from the beautiful hustle and bustle of the main square and so close to some amazing rooftop bars and restaurants yet a haven of calm and tranquility as soon as you walk through the unassuming entrance. Traditional Riad style nicely appointed in traditional style where everything works as you would expect in an older property. This is NOT a new Hilton or Marriott hotel as some reviewers seem to expect yet is a perfect execution of a Riad based authentic boutique hotel.
Key things for any hotel - comfortable beds, very quiet, good shower, decent coffee and loads of it, clean and great service from all the staff. Some narrow, steep stairs to some of the rooms so be wary if you have accessibility needs. Great continental and Moroccan style breakfast, on-site restaurant that we didn’t try and an on-site Hamman that we also didn’t try. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful for anything we needed and made for a lovely stay.
Did I mention the location? Phenomenal!
Tips:- definitely get the airport or taxi transfer to ease your first trip in, once you’ve done the journey once it’s so easy to get your bearings from the main square. The porter will meet your car. The location felt very, very safe as did the whole of the Medina - same as any other busy town or city so don’t over-think this when planning! Embrace the heat of summer, it’s very hot yet in the Souks and air conditioned rooms it’s very comfortable. As you can tell we had an amazing stay and I would not hesitate to recommend this property.
I guess I made the mistake of thinking "5 Star" was the same as 5 star in Europe. Seeing as they award their own ratings then very understandable why I was let down, 3 star max. A little quirky but nothing more. Make sure you're down early for breakfast before the flies eat it all and look forward to the staff having the most heated arguments across your table most mornings. It's a dry hotel, so when you see "Gin & Tonic" on the menu its false. Cats Cats Cats everywhere, even jumping up on your table when trying to eat, and one song played on loop constantly all day.
You have to get out the bed at the bottom as their is no space either side as butted up against the walls and the air con sounds like a tractor running with no oil.
The pool is no bigger than a bath and if 2 people are in there at once it feels very over crowded.
The shower in the room was nothing more than a dribbling nonsense.
I suppose being over half hour late to pick me up from the airport wasnt a good start to which was sniggered at as opposed to an apology.
Jack hammers going all day if you were thinking of some mid day relaxation and a constant Hummmmmm in the room which I have also noted other guests mention on feedback.
We couldn’t have chosen a better place for the first part of our stay in Marrakech. Palais des Princesses combines a fantastic central location with the peace and tranquillity of a traditional riad. Just a couple of minutes’ walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the heart of the Medina, it was the perfect base for exploring, yet stepping through the doors felt like entering a calm oasis away from the hustle and bustle.
The riad is absolutely beautiful, with stunning courtyards, traditional Moroccan architecture, a lovely rooftop terrace and a pool that was the perfect temperature to cool down in after a day of sightseeing. Every area was immaculately clean and full of character.
Our room exceeded expectations. It was spacious, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, with excellent air conditioning, a mini fridge and a smart TV—ideal for relaxing after long days exploring the city.
The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Every member of the team was welcoming, friendly and always happy to help with directions, recommendations or anything else we needed. Their hospitality made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
Breakfast each morning was fresh, plentiful and delicious, with a great selection to set us up for a busy day of sightseeing.
What impressed us most was the value for money. The quality of the accommodation, facilities, location and service far exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for an authentic riad in an unbeatable location, with beautiful surroundings and genuinely wonderful staff, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Palais des Princesses. It was the perfect introduction to Marrakech and helped make our trip so memorable.
We spent 3 nights at Palais des Princesses mid May 2026. The Riad consists of several traditional houses interconnected via a maze of stairs and passageways that open to beautiful courtyards and relaxing areas. It is therefore bigger in room count and dimensions compared to traditional riads. The attentive restoration also connected the lovely terraces of the different buildings. The location is absolutely excellent as well as the atmosphere and the decor which combines traditional elements and architecture with classic western details such as the beautiful chandeliers! Our Deluxe room was spacious for Riad standards, with a traditional decor and well appointed. Staff are all welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. Breakfast is plentiful and of good quality, though the buffet is located in a very uncomfortable position, especially at busy times.
Some areas for improvement that could be addressed to offer a real 5* experience:

My partner and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of March. After a 3 day trip in the Atlas mountains and Sahara desert we arrived at this riad and what a lovely gem in the middle of Marrakech. It is a calm oasis away from the hustle and bustle outside. We were woken both mornings at 5.30am by the pre dawn call to prayer (it was Ramadan) and this just added to the whole experience, I loved listening to it on the rooftop. Great breakfast with lots of choice, we were also joined by the resident cat Cleopatra. Highly recommend
