Kenzi Club Agdal Medina

We thankfully flew home last week and still experiencing diarrhoea.

We came as a family of 5 for 1 week, all inclusive. 3 of us have had diarrhoea and vomiting. Myself and 2 children (6 and 8). I was given some sachets from the nurse and our youngest ended up having to be seen by the Dr and was given an anti sickness suppository, antibiotics and probiotics due to not being able to keep anything down.

Before flying, we read the bad reviews on Facebook and had considered changing hotels but thought we’d see for ourselves. In hindsight I wish we had changed. On first impresssions we did wonder why there had been so many bad reviews, however, within a few days it was clear.

Rooms - big but not cleaned to a reasonable standard, dirty doors and mirrors, and our son’s hoody had magically disappeared during our stay.

Food - do not eat at the snack bar unless you want to eat food that’s had flies and birds landing on it. Food always uncovered. In the main restaurant cooks handling raw meat and then touching other foods and making up burgers. Guest picking food up and then putting it back.

Sunbeds - never an issue but husband did have to get up at 6:30am just to get some.

Pools/slides - needs some TLC. Flooring missing/uneven in the pool and the surface is horrible. Also some kind of bug swimming around in it.

Entertainment - standard activities, nothing to shout about. We thought there’d be more to do considering it’s an inland hotel.

We did manage to escape the place and go to the market and also Nobu rooftop restaurant which we would actually recommend.

Would we return…absolutely not!

This was our second visit to Kenzi Club Agdal Medina — we first stayed back in March, loved it so much that we returned for another ten‑day trip this August — and it was absolutely perfect in every way!

The animation team are simply unbelievable — my children absolutely adore them, and my daughter honestly idolises every single one of them. They are such incredible, kind people. The bar staff are incredible, and the waiters — at breakfast, lunch, and dinner — were absolutely ace, flawless every single day.

Every person here is so friendly; we felt so warmly welcomed and truly well taken care of from start to finish. The bar staff, waiters, and animation team will be deeply missed until we meet again — we haven’t just had a holiday, we have made friends for life.

Thank you to every single worker at Kenzi Club for giving us another unforgettable, heart‑warming stay — we already can’t wait to come back and see you all very soon! 💛

Starting with the positives, the rooms are big. They are a little dated, but perfectly adequate. We stayed in a suite as a family of five and had plenty of space. There were two large flat-screen TVs, a separate room for the kids, a double sink and two toilets. The main bed was huge, although very hard and not particularly comfortable.

Staff

The majority of the staff were very friendly and hardworking. The entertainment team were good, the bar staff were friendly especially Mamadou and the restaurant staff were accommodating and welcoming.

You do get the odd miserable member of staff who looks at you like you’re stupid for asking a question, but thankfully they were few and far between.

The staff are actually one of the hotel’s biggest positives. Without the hardworking staff, I genuinely think this would struggle to be more than a 2-star hotel.

Kids Club

Unfortunately, we weren’t impressed with the kids club at all, with the exception of Saad, who seemed to run it. He worked hard, interacted brilliantly with the children and our kids loved him.

The rest of the team were disappointing. They seemed much more interested when parents were around watching, but otherwise there was very little interaction. On occasions, they would take the younger children to the small pool and then sit looking at their phones rather than properly engaging with them. We also found some of them quite rude.

Our kids ended up hating the kids club, which was a real shame.

Food

This was by far the biggest problem for us.

It’s probably the worst food I’ve experienced at an all-inclusive hotel. It felt like the same food was being served every day, the quality was poor and a lot of it was completely tasteless.

We came across apples that were brown inside and meat that appeared undercooked. I will normally eat pretty much anything and I’m certainly not a fussy eater, but even I struggled.

Several of us suffered stomach problems during the holiday, as did a number of other guests we spoke to. I spent a full day extremely unwell in bed and much of the rest of the holiday constantly needing the toilet.

We actually went out to eat twice just to get away from the hotel food, which is something we would never normally do when we’ve paid for an all-inclusive holiday.

Check-in & Guest Support

Check-in was easy, organised and very well handled. Unfortunately, once you’re checked in, that level of service seems to disappear.

We reported that we had been unwell and believed it was related to the food. It took around 24 hours for anyone to come back to us, and when they eventually did, they simply asked if we were okay. There was no apology and very little concern shown.

Considering how ill we had been, I found the response disappointing.

Pool & Slides

The slides are good, the pools are decent and there are plenty of sun loungers, although you still need to get up early and reserve them if you want a decent spot.

One thing that concerned us was the condition of some of the pool tiles. During our stay, a little girl badly cut her leg on a broken tile and had to go to hospital. She returned in a wheelchair for the remainder of her stay.

What was particularly concerning was that the damaged area remained in the same condition afterwards, and we were told it had apparently already been like that for some time.

Overall

There are positives here. The rooms are spacious, the slides are good and there are some genuinely fantastic, hardworking members of staff.

Unfortunately, the food, kids club, maintenance issues and lack of support when things go wrong completely overshadowed those positives for us.

We’ve stayed at plenty of all-inclusive hotels and this was easily the worst overall experience we’ve had.

I personally wouldn’t recommend Kenzi Club Agdal Medina and wouldn’t return.
