Iberostar Club Palmeraie Marrakech

My wife and I visited from FridayJuly 14th to Friday 31st July. On arrival we were greeted by hotel staff and did relevant paperwork. We weren’t expecting them to say our room was ready as it was only 11am. and normally you have to wait until at least 2pm. Our room was located on Ground Floor near the Zen pool which was supposed to be adults only (more on that later) Room was pleasant enough and air con was spot on and was needed. We unpacked and went for a wander. The place was vast and things were well spread about. Archery,tennis and basketball courts,football pitches,boules,badminton,beach volleyball,plenty of amenities and there was also a trapeze which was much bigger than expected. Time for lunch,plenty of options available,as usual staff were very pleasant as we’ve found on our previous 9 visits to various hotels in Marrakesh. Plenty of sun beds around the Zen pool,main pool very busy,most days completely full. Zen pool was Adults only (over 16’s) which isn’t an adult,however most days we were there parents kept coming in with their children only to be told they couldn’t stay. No ball games or loud music was allowed either.just a chill out pool with its own bar. Overall food was ok,as with most all inclusive it did get a bit repetitive but we expected that anyway so we weren’t that bothered by it and always found something. There were a few little niggles whilst there but they were soon sorted out. Entertainment was mainly in house but they did work hard to entertain you and a couple of the shows were decent. There was no air conditioning in main restaurant and neither was there any in the main lobby bar which was very uncomfortable in the evenings when it was still in the low 30 degrees. Cleaners were excellent and often decorated the bed with petals. Comparing it to other hotels we’ve been to in Marrakesh it wasn’t as good as some but also it was on a par with a lot of the others. Staff were excellent and earn every penny they get(also the tips we gave them). They appreciate whatever you give them. Would we come back here again! No,I don’t think we would, having said that we don’t go back to the same hotel anyway. Would I recommend it! Probably for a family with older kids as main pool is hectic and always something happening. Overall though we did have a nice time and there weren’t any major problems.
