Eden Andalou Aquapark and Spa

We recently returned from Marrakesh. We spent 10 nights at the Eden Andalou. We had a wonderful time there. This hotel has its plus and minus like most of the hotels. They do some things very good (like the food, some facilities and staff) which compensate in some other areas where they are not that good.

I give them 5 start for encouragement, but my experience was more close to 3.5 stars; I mainly felt let down by the accommodation, but I enjoyed the overall Maroccan experience.

This is a medium to large hotel, 253 room, around 1K guests I guess; is located outside the city, 20 min by car, hence most of the attractions operators booked online will not pick you up, but you can book these near the hotel reception;

The hotel has acquired a Marriott licence recently; the reception, bar areas, etc look really good with proper Moroccan interior designs which looked fabulous ; the rooms are not quite Marriott standards; the minibar is empty, and there is almost nothing to fill it up with; when you ask at the bar for this, just 2 sodas, almost no snacks, no mini alcohol drinks etc; We had family room or family suite (room 201); we were 5 in one space; what bothered me the most is the lack of a balcony or a terrace; these are not available in family rooms as they used the balcony space to fit another bed; I blame myself for not reading careful the room description when I booked; if I knew this then definitely I would not have picked it up; this is the 8th consecutive summer when we go for all inclusive as is easier due to kids, and first time when we had no balcony/terrace; if you like like me to dry your things on a balcony, do some work on laptop, perhaps a coffee or breakfast, or wine/champagne in evening with wife when kids are sleeping, then definitely this place is not for you. There are rooms with balconies indeed (they looked small from what I saw) but these rooms are smaller for up to 4 people. We tried 3 times at reception to change but that was not possible. The rooms are clean, but you have to ask for daily room cleaning; the hallway that leads to our room had dirty walls, and carpet, which is not a Marriott standard; the aircon was ok, internet mostly ok

There was 1 main restaurant and 2 a la carte. Food was very good with many options, including Maroccan cuisine, many very tasty dishes; few children options too My 4 yo did not like anything to eat, she survived with hot chocholate, peaches and melon; we then asked the restaurant manager if they can prepare chicken soup for her as this was her favourite; Chef Qualid made a nice soup, and finally my daughter ate more than 2 bowls; thanks so much for your kindness !! I think more children options like fish finger, simple chicken/noodle soups etc would be very well appreciated; I could not notice that some of the deserts were proper patiserie quality - well done; there were always plenty fresh fruits, but I was wondering why not some fruits which they grown more in Morocco, just to round up the Moroccan experience; also not many cheese options at breakfast, which surprised me given the french connection.

The drinks selection was not quite on my taste; in restaurant is basically wine and beer; the wine was not on my taste; the local beer Stork was good, but not as biter as I like. At bar there are 6 alcohol cocktails options in package; my favourite Aperol spitz or Pina Colada were not included in all inclusive (available separate); no prosecco in all inclusive package either; I found a bit odd not to be able to have a beer in aquapark (no alcohol there at all); Also, my kids love ice cream, but only at lunch available, hence we bought quite a lot from different areas, although the selection was not very good.

Not enough sun beds, this is a known issue and sounds like they don't care.

Entertainment in evening generally was a bit disappointing (this often happens if the hotel is not very large) but I appreciate the effort;

I was surprise to see so little options to keep the kids busy in evenings; no play area in a family oriented hotel ?!! no options like electric cars, karting, bowling, table hockey etc; there were 2 billiard table (permanently booked), and just few video games; Overall was a good experience, but is a No with no accommodation outdoor space for me, although kids had fantastic time.

Myself my daughter and my dad had the most Amazing stay at this hotel, we were greeted with a smile and Moroccan Tea whilst waiting to check in, the tea which i enjoyed and became an everyday drink. Staff so nice and very friendly. The rooms were nice spacious and cool as well, very comfy rooms. The smaller pool for kids was nice but the bigger pool was amazing which is where we spent most of our time near the bar. cocktails and beers lovely as well the mocktails for kids. All staff greeted you and had a smile on there face all the time. The Waterpark onsite we visted almost everyday was amazing, great slides and 2 good foam partys as well. Myself and my daughter had a blast in there dancing and partying away. The Food in the restaurant changed each day and was really good, all sorts to choose from and we had the most amazing Waiter named Usama if thats how you spell it, he was always friendly chatting to us helping us out he became a real friend on holiday so much we have kept in contact. The Staff in the bars at Night which Was Ali and Younes who knew us by name and were always smiling and joking with us especially my 11 year old daughter, they couldnt do enough for us, really great staff the hotel should be proud of them. The Entertainment Team led by Mr Happiness Worked very hard in the day and night. always getting people involved in things, from Aqua Aerobics, to Pilates, Darts, Archery, Belly dancing, foam party's which we got involved in a couple of these. Entertainment at night was great and changed each night from dancing to karaoke which we all enjoyed. The only downside was our safe wouldnt open and we had to get maintenance to come out but they took over 2 hours which was annoying. my only other suggestion is to maybe do entertainment outside as everyone is there after they have had dinner up by the bars rather than trying to get everyone to go downstairs in the big meeting room which could possibly do with a bit of tidying up but thats a very minor thing and only my point of view. I would happily come back to this resort and do it all again it was that good. Honestly people who look at this destination and reviews should just book it you wont regret it. its only 15 mins from the airport and you can book excursions if you wanted to from the hotel. we didn't as we was there to relax but if i come back again i would defiantly book some to experience Morocco outside the hotel walls.

Anyone who wrote a bad review ignore it it’s the best hotel in the world. The staff are brilliant work so hard to make it a better experience lovley couple of pools pool for the kids aswell lovely hotel rooms i highly recommend this hotel.
