I don't know how the hotel has received the amazing reviews it has, this was our 15th time to Marrakach and our first visit to this hotel.

The positives:-

The hotel rooms are modern and clean. The staff in the snack bar and the bar inside work so hard and are so polite. The hotel has a modern vibe to it.
If there are any issues with your room etc, and you inform the staff, they will fix issues as soon as they are notified.
Receptionists were polite and would always try and help if there were an issue. We could always get a sunbed. Wifi very strong everywhere. You can get towels daily Safes are free. We have been back a week and still await our deposit however.

The negatives:- The flies, they are relentless outside ( i have to say we saw and had no issues with wasps as others have mentioned)

The food - As mentioned we have been to Marrakech so many time and there has always been a huge selection of food both international and Moroccan, this hotels selection is very small, not varied, barely any Moroccan food. It was witnessed a chef drop entire tray of chicken onto the floor, pick it up and proceed to cook it and serve it. One evening the meats of choice were Chilli Con Carne and fried Kidneys! The snack bar food was average and we were making do with this. A couple we met out there ate a Tuna Panini the day before flying home and they both became very ill...she is currently, as I type, in an isolation ward in hospital with Ecoli!! Members of staff serving both food and drinks going to the toilet (male) and not washing their hands - it's basic hygiene.

The Entertainment - what entertainment? we saw one maybe 2 people a day walking around. They don't interact with guests at all although one woman seemed to just play cards with one couple every single day or ping pong. The evening entertainment was not spoken about- nobody said where it was, what was happening. We had to ask someone and we were sent downstairs to the basement ( a conference room full of meeting tables and chairs ) and there were 6 people there , random music and no entertainment staff. It was awful. It remained like this for the entire week. Luckily we know of some amazing bars and restaurants so went out most nights however if we were stuck in this hotel with a young family or as a couple who didn't know the area, it would have been horrendous.

Housekeeping - They would knock on our door wait 3 seconds and let themselves in ...at 8am! every.single.day and even when the door was locked, they would still try and enter! on two separate occasions housekeeping left our door unlocked! both issues were notified to reception, nothing was done about these.

We spoke to various people throughout our stay who had stayed many times at this hotel and they all mentioned how much it had gone downhill.

The negatives really did outweigh the positives for us at this hotel and as a result we won't be coming back again- it is such a shame because it really does have the potential to be a good hotel.

Myself, my husband and my toddler travelled for some winter sun in February.

Upon arrival, we were shown to our room which was gorgeous but there was no bed made up for our daughter. I mentioned this to the front desk yet nothing was done about this. The next morning, I had to mention this again before a bed was made up for her.

Food is very traditional, I am a fussy eater and although I did always find something to eat - it could be tricky. For those fussier than me, please bear in mind you do not get your usual chips daily in the restaurant, although you could get them at lunchtime at the pool bar. We ate at the Al carte and wow that was incredible!

The staff, mainly entertainment and pool bar staff were amazing and so attentive of our toddler.

Due to being out of season, the hotel did lack much entertainment and there was not much going on. But I was also 24 weeks pregnant so we were happy to have a more chilled week.

Overall fab week but unsure if we will return.
