We had a lovely family dinner at KOE during our stay at Barceló Palmeraie Oasis Resort. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food was very enjoyable and it made for a really nice change during our stay.
A special thank you to Azouz, who looked after us wonderfully throughout the evening. He was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. Travelling with a six-year-old can sometimes make dinner an adventure, but he made us all feel completely at ease.
Great food, lovely atmosphere and particularly excellent service from Azouz. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Incredibly disappointing with the all inclusive and all inclusive plus. Misleading as there are drinks/ food you have to pay for irrespective of all inclusive plus. All inclusive plus is a waste of money. £700 for a family of 4 gives very little more than all inclusive. Limited options on the pool menu where you do not have to pay. Service really slow at the pool bar too. Beautiful hotel but the all inclusive and all inclusive plus isn’t explained properly. Really disappointing given the cost.
Just got back from a one week stay with our 21 month old and it was simply incredible. The staff really made our first holiday with our toddler a memorable one. They were so accommodating, so attentive and went out of their way to make sure you were happy. They were so friendly towards our toddler and she loved to say hello and give them a 'high five'. I noticed some previous reviews stated the food was a bit repetitive, but we didn't find that at all. We really enjoyed the food and the tajine was particularly good. Sunbeds weren't always easy to get hold of, but there were always tables free, we always had somewhere to sit and put our belongings. We had a really great time - thank you Barceló. :)
Beautiful hotel upon arrival which was early evening. Half board, so took evening meal. So hot next day stayed under umbrellas by pool. Had evening meal avoiding all they suggest. Woke up next morning very sick, diarrhoea and cramps. Went to bed all day and worse by evening, partner went to reception to ask for a doctor. He arrived promptly and set up a drip in room waited until finished, gave a prescription of antibiotics and other meds, gastroenteritis. in bed ill all next day persevering with the meds but getting worse, early hours of next morning partner went to reception again to request a doctor as by that time the pain was horrendous. He came and promptly called an ambulance. The hotel staff had to help carry me down steps on a seat into ambulance. Spent rest of my weeks holiday in hospital on many drips, continual medication, ct scan, etc. absolutely amazing care, reception didn’t want to know when my partner saw them. Not interested. I won’t be returning. At 81 years of age, this has now stayed with me and even cautious now eating any food. Very very sad and disappointing
We has a very mixed experience at this hotel. Location was very good it was within 20 mins of everything we wanted to do, there was shops around and restaurants around we used uber to get around which I highly recommend. First communication at this hotel lacks as when we got there we asked to check in just after 2 bearing in mind we booked through last minute.com where check in says 2pm and that is what we went with but website say 3 we were told we would need to wait 40 mins for our rooms as we wanted then net to each other which was fine we were told we can have lunch and we can come back for our wrist bands and rooms we went to eat upon finishing we went to tell that we were part of all inclusive but as we did not have the wrist bands we would need to pay. So please ensure you take the wrist bands first. We finished lunch about and hour after and went back to get our rooms and we were told they were still not ready and it will take another 30 mins we had waited and still were told they were not ready and we had asked for a manager. manager excuse was we are very busy due to summer that why its not ready. We got 2 out of 3 rooms at 4:40 pm and the last room was given at 5pm. There is a lack of communication between management, cleaners and reception staff which is unacceptable and so many excuses given which were just rubbish. After waiting so long for our rooms they we were not even put together which was very annoying. Rooms were nice and cute like a little studio apartment which was nice however we had 3 rooms and each room has something missing or wrong with it 1 room there was not hairdryer, tv remote and steamer and the balcony door would not open we had to push and push for it to open. 2 other rooms did not have hair dyers. In terms of food there was not much choice and half of our group was vegetarian so there was not much choice for lunch and dinner but breakfast was good. The grounds were just beautiful and full of greenery fountains an looked lovely. Pools were good we mostly stayed at the adults only and it was relaxing and quiets no music like the other pool.
Overall it was an ok stay however due to the staff behaviours, lack of communications and food options i would not recommend this resort unfortunately. From my experience of 5 star hotels this would not be classed as 5 star at all.
