Aqua Mirage Club Marrakech

Returned from an 11 night stay. First time using this hotel. The layout and scenery are lovely. The food was varied, plentiful and flavoursome. Always moroccan options to try alongside pasta, pizza, salads, meat dishes etc. The kids pools and aqua park can get very busy, as can the restaurant. Planning your timings can help a lot with this (early for breakfast, late for dinner, lunch anytime). Drinking water was always readily available and we had no problems with queueing for food or drinks at any of the bars. The cocktails were a bit sweet for me but the wine, beer and spirits were all perfectly acceptable and there was no scrimping on measures. Hotel shuttle into Marrakesh works well, but for a family of 4 it's as cheap to get an uber. Definitely venture in, it's a fabulous place. We used the kids club a couple of times and the staff were very nice. The teen club wasn't operating, which was disappointing. Neither was the gym, which was being refurbished. However there was plenty of organised general entertainment for teens. The spa was nice but the massage only ok. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the grounds were kept clean and tidy. The only negative experiences we had were from occasional other guests being rude (e.g. pushing in front for food or rides). The hotel can't help that though. I'm not sure I'd come at peak times, it certainly felt busy enough whilst we were there.

I stayed for 7 nights with my entire family and had the best time. The staff were super friendly and the pool facilities and bar were a family favourite. The rooms were spacious and clean and found the night entertainment amazing! We had the best trip!

Family of 5 (2 Adults + 17, 15 & 12 year old) + Family of 4 (2 Adults + 15 & 12 year old) We have just returned from a 9 night holiday at the Aqua Mirage and before we went I had read many reviews and spoke to a few people and I'll be honest, I actually started to regret our decision to come to Morocco for a holiday with our 3 children and our friends as I suffer a lot with anxiety. I'm so glad we came because this has been one of the best holiday we've ever been on. The day we arrived, the reception team were very accommodating, ensuring we had cold bottles of water on arrival while we waited 2 hours for our room to be ready. We could have paid extra to get to our room sooner, however we were fine playing uno and taking in the culture around us. Our suitcases were taken to our room, we stayed in block 1 which was right next to 6 tennis courts and a football pitch, I'd completely forgotten there were tennis courts and so myself and my youngest son were thrilled. We got settled in and headed over to snack bar for a panini & chips. This was our first encounter with the bees, this did panic me a little as my youngest is scared of them. Although we soon came to realise that they were only interest in the coke and fanta, so if thats all you want to drink be sure to take a cup with a lid and a straw (that has a lid on it too). As soon as you get a coke or a fanta, the bees will come. So we made the conscious decision to stick to beer and water when around the main pool and we had no issues with bees. The Aqua Parc is incredible, there are slides that go into the water that is pooled at the bottom of the slide and there are slides that land in the pool, so the slides cater for all, even those afraid of water. So much fun was had by all of our family, the only issue we had sometimes was that the round floats that you sit on when coming down some of the slides were not handed over to the next person waiting at the bottom of the slide, some people were very selfish and held on to them while many people would wait for 5-10 minutes sometimes. We did notice that this happened more so on the weekends when the Aqua Parc was open to the locals, I suppose they have the opinion that we're there all the time and they're only there for a day. My husband starting to take the floats of people and tell them to wait for the next one by the end of it which was a little embarrassing for the kids but we believe that people should share. The food at the Aqua Parc was delicious, although you can only go up and get the 3 items (Salad/Pasta, Baguette/Pizza, Desert) for one person at a time, when people were going up for say a family of 4 and it was only one person collecting they would only give for 1 person. The got a few peoples backs up, but there is a sign and it does clearly state only 1 person but you can go up as many times as you like. Again, this is where the bees are cause people will get coke and fanta without lids, although near the end of the week the bar was providing lids for the drinks so there were far less bees. We found sitting under the trees next to the food court in the shade a good spot to eat lunch and not be harassed by the bees. I think so long as you understand what it is that they are after (the fizzy drinks) then you know how to ensure they don't impact your holiday. The main pool was lots of fun, there was a foam party, a pool party, inflatables course, water polo, water volleyball and lots more. The entertainment team were amazing, and always so positive and happy. We used to go down for breakfast and take our towels with us to save our sun loungers, with there being 9 of us it would have been tricky to get sun loungers if we hadn't have done that. But we were not alone in this, there were lots of towels on the sun loungers so we were comfortable we weren't being rude. We have been to some places and towels have been placed as early as 4am, however we were going down for breakfast at 9am and were still able to get a spot. The evening entertainment was great, they had entertainment for the younger ones and then entertainment from 9:30pm onwards for everyone else. The Michael Jackson show was absolutely phenomenal, and as we arrived on the Saturday and stayed for 9 nights we were able to see it twice, and were pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't the same show every time, such a treat. The Karaoke night was fun, we wanted to have a go but we arrived a little to late after dinner to get signed up, the only criticism I would have with that is that there were a few people who went up twice so would have been nice to see others have a go, but thats only me being nit picky cause myself and my son wanted to do a duet. Everyone still had fun though! The food in the main restaurant was incredible, there was honestly something for everyone, there are two rooms that split off from the main food area that have salad and deserts in and outside there is a bbq where food is cooked to order. Also in the outside area in the morning there are chefs making omelettes and fried eggs to order, the omelettes could have cheese, onion & tomatoes in. And you can ask for as many as you like, I used to go up there and get one for me (with everything), one for my son (with just cheese) and one for my daughter (just plain) and it saved so much time than having to queue individually and no-one around you was judging you either cause everyone was doing the same. We also ate at the Italian restaurant (next to the main pool), if you stay for 7 days you get 1 night free in the restaurant, as we stayed for 9 nights, we got 2 nights free. The food was delicious, a three course meal, the drinks were flowing and the staff were super friendly. The rooms we stayed in were brilliant, as a family of 5 we had 2 rooms that had a connecting door. We only used one door to enter and exit the room and at night I barricaded the door with the suitcases in the room my children slept in, I had visions of them sleepwalking and heading down the hall. The kids found it funny, but it gave me inner peace. The beds were comfortable, I was pleased that were given a duvet and not just a sheet to put over us cause I like to get cosy in bed, we have been to places before where they just give you a sheet to cover yourself with so a duvet was welcomed and it added to that homely feel too. Before we came, we had read reviews about cracked floor tiles, but these reviews made it out to be like this would ruin your holiday. Yes there are floor tiles that are cracked or chipped, but it doesn't stop you from being able to walk properly, they are not a danger to anyone, its a resort that gets lots of people come and go so these things are going to occur. It didn't bother us anyway. We played tennis a few days, we had to pay 200 Dirhams per racket (this was refundable when the rackets were returned), the rackets were not in the best condition although that didn't take away from the fun we had. We also played table tennis which is by the main pool, this was fun. And we had a few goes at Archery in the morning with Aqua Mirages own Robin hood, it was so much fun. We spoke with one of the reps on site about excursions and he walked us through our options, he did not push in to making a decision and we were left to decided what we wanted to do. We went back after 1 day and booked the camel ride for 1 hour and Moroccan tea (which was delicious). We chose to go to Agafay desert which was about 45 minutes from the resort, this did not disappoint, the people were so lovely and friendly, the views were spectacular, ideal for the most wonderful pictures. We went in the evening so we got some lovely sunset pictures and were back in time for dinner before it closed. I used the spa one day but not for a massage, I went there for a blow dry, it was lovely to have a little pamper and was around 25 Dirhams. Our friends went to the spa for a back massage and said it was wonderful. Over the road from the Aqua Mirage there is a shop 'Spongebob', this is not a part of the Aqua Mirage resort) and you can get some lovely souvenirs, they only take cash and the cash machine outside the shop wasn't working so we had to use the cash machine outside the Aqua Mirage, the 2 gentlemen in that shop were so friendly, there were a little salesy but not too pushy. The one thing I really loved at Aqua Mirage was that no one was pushy, you didn't feel like you were being sold too all the time like we have been made to feel in other places. We were left to our own devices and if we needed any of the team they were there. The only negative I have about this holiday is that our private transfer that we booked through love holidays to take us back to the airport never arrived. But the reception team at the Aqua Mirage got us 2 taxi's to take us to the airport, we had to pay 400 Dirhams for the 2 taxi's in total, but we will claim that back form Love Holidays, so the only negative was that but that was nothing to do with the Aqua Mirage team and they came to our rescue.
