Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We arrived late on Saturday night and thankfully didn’t have to queue, which was great after travelling for most of the day. My children, aged 9 and 10, were absolutely exhausted by the time we arrived.
We were offered a seat while we filled out the forms and were then given a welcome drink, which was a lovely touch. There was a late dinner available, although, to be honest, there wasn’t much choice.
When we got to our room, we were really impressed. It was lovely and clean, and they had thought of everything, including grooming products and dental essentials. The fridge was filled with drinks everyday. There was also an iron and ironing board in the room, which was perfect, as well as bathrobes for both myself and my husband. One of the little touches I loved was the welcome message on the TV with our surname on it 🥰.although this seemed to change to a different name everyday 😂.
Breakfast was great and had everything we wanted. The only slight issue was that the service could be hit and miss. Sometimes the waiters would take your drink order, but you weren’t always guaranteed to actually receive it.
The staff in general were incredible, especially with my children. They clearly love children and genuinely couldn’t do enough for them, which was lovely to see.
The à la carte restaurants were all lovely and definitely worth booking. We particularly enjoyed the Thai and Indian restaurants, which were both fantastic. One little suggestion I would make is to add Prosecco to the drinks menu, even if it was just available in the à la carte restaurants. Unfortunately, I didn’t think the wine was particularly nice, so having the option of a Prosecco would have been a lovely addition.
Unfortunately, the pool bar was probably our biggest issue. I completely understand that it is August and the hotel is busy, but having just one person working behind the bar for most of the time simply wasn’t enough. We also noticed that the locals seemed to get served much quicker than we did.
On one occasion, I waited nearly half an hour to be served and then didn’t receive everything I had ordered. When another person was put behind the bar, I still struggled to get served. I also don’t think people should be allowed to smoke around the pool bar.
There were also a few occasions where some men actually shooed me away when I was sitting at the bar, as though I shouldn’t have been there. Unfortunately for them, I had paid to be at that bar just as much as they had, so I wasn’t moving! 😂 I found it incredibly rude, and my husband felt the same. To be fair, my husband wasn’t shooed away himself, but he did have his own issues getting served, with locals sometimes being served before him. Eventually, he got frustrated and said something.
After this, the staff actually started coming over to our sunbeds to ask what we would like, as they knew we were unhappy, which we really appreciated but it shouldn't of had to happen in the 1st place.
We also had a few incidents where managers had booked restaurants for us, but when we arrived, there was no booking under our name or they booked it later than they told us. This was quite embarrassing and frustrating.
However, Moe Mayher was absolutely incredible, as was another Moe. They are the main managers and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. They constantly checked that we were happy and went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. Their customer service really did make a difference, and we really appreciated everything they did for us.
One thing I will say is that I don’t think the towel guys around the pool get enough credit. One in particular was absolutely amazing. He would have our towels set out on our sunbeds every morning before we had even made it down to the pool. I honestly can’t remember his name, which I feel terrible about, but those little things he did were so thoughtful and really made a difference. It’s the little touches like that which you remember 🥰.
The beach itself is beautiful, although I would definitely recommend bringing beach shoes. Unless you go onto the jetty, it is very difficult to get into the sea as it is extremely slippery and can be dangerous. This isn’t the hotel’s fault though it’s simply the nature of the beach.
We didn’t particularly enjoy the entertainment. A lot of it seemed to be aimed either at adults or very young children, so we spent most of our evenings in the Churchill Bar playing Uno together.
There are also buses that take you to another hotel on certain days, which we did once. However, if I’m being completely honest, we paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel, so I don’t really feel we should have needed to travel to another hotel for entertainment.
The fire show was fantastic and the stage itself was amazing. There are also lots of guests from other hotels who come over, as well as various pop-up food and drink stations. While it was nice to experience, we personally didn’t feel it was worth travelling to again.
Overall, we had a great holiday and there were definitely lots of positives. The rooms were lovely, the beach was beautiful, the food was good and the staff were fantastic, especially with the children. The à la carte restaurants were a real highlight, particularly the Thai and Indian, and Moe mayher and Moe really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.
The towel staff also deserve a special mention for the little things they did every day. Those small touches really do make a difference.
However, if I’m being completely honest, I’m not sure I would return again. The issues with the pool bar and the entertainment were quite disappointing, especially considering how much we paid for the holiday. I also feel there simply wasn’t enough for my 9- and 10-year-olds to do.
That being said, if you are considering staying here, I would definitely recommend trying all of the à la carte restaurants, especially the Thai and Indian, and making the most of the lovely staff and facilities. For us personally, though, there were a few things that would need to improve before we would choose to return.
This has to be one of the best family holidays we have ever had. We’ve travelled to Mexico, Dubai, the Canary Islands and much further afield, but Sunrise Arabian Beach Resort has genuinely left us with memories we will never forget.
We booked an 11-night stay in Posh Club, and although we were initially a little confused about the concept of the “butler service” — having previously had a dedicated named butler in Mexico — we soon realised that Posh Club operates more as a concierge service. The team is available 24/7 at the end of a WhatsApp message, and they are absolutely phenomenal. They work incredibly hard and genuinely go above and beyond to make your holiday special.
As a strict vegetarian with very specific dietary requirements — no cheese made with animal rennet, no animal fats or stocks, and absolutely no food cooked with meat, fish or chicken products — I was expecting to struggle. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Chef Hussein and Chef Mohammed looked after me unbelievably well. Every evening they prepared delicious, freshly made meals specifically for me. I honestly felt like a queen! I have never experienced this level of care for my dietary requirements at any hotel I have stayed in. The food was absolutely incredible, and I cannot thank them enough.
Posh Club itself was perfect for our family. The pool was peaceful and relaxed, with none of the usual “sunbed wars”. The pool team sorted our sunbeds every day and even made beautiful little towel/napkin figurines for my children. My daughter is autistic and can find family holidays difficult because she struggles with change and loud environments, so having the calm and quieter Posh Club environment made such a difference. For us, the upgrade was worth every single penny.
There are so many members of staff I want to mention because they truly made our holiday.
Hanna, the Posh Club Manager, was always cheerful, smiling and welcoming. It is obvious that she genuinely loves what she does.
Youseff was fantastic — always attentive, always smiling, teaching us Arabic and making sure our restaurant reservations were arranged. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he is a true credit to the resort.
My two children absolutely loved the Posh Club bar staff, Karim and Ackmed. These two gentlemen worked unbelievably hard in the 37-degree heat and were constantly on the go, yet they always had a smile and were brilliant with the children. Their dedication was incredible.
And it wasn’t just the Posh Club team. From the gardeners, housekeeping and room staff — Mohammed, in particular — to every member of staff we encountered, you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.
We have never returned to the same holiday destination twice, but we would absolutely make an exception for Sunrise Arabian Beach Resort.
The staff are what make this resort truly special. They don’t just provide a service; they make you feel genuinely cared for, valued and welcome. Without each and every one of these wonderful people, our holiday simply would not have been what it was.
We are genuinely heartbroken to say goodbye, but we leave with incredible memories and enormous gratitude.
Thank you, Sunrise Arabian Beach Resort, from the very bottom of our hearts. You have been phenomenal — and we will DEFINITELY be back to see you all! ❤️🇪🇬
An absolute dream of a stay! Sunrise Arabian is exceptionally luxurious, stunningly beautiful, and impeccably clean throughout. The food was remarkably delicious with a fantastic variety that satisfied all our tastes. What truly made our trip unforgettable was the wonderful hospitality from the entire staff, especially the amazing animation team who brought so much energy, fun, and joy to our days. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly relaxing, luxurious, and entertaining getaway!
We came to this hotel for the first time with friends, and we really enjoyed our vacation here. The first thing we want to highlight is the excellent animation, amazing parties, and lots of activities. We especially loved the Odyssey party — the costumes were stunning, and the acrobat performance was incredible. It wasn’t just a party on the terrace, but a real show. We want to give a special thank you to the animator Masha, who always cheered us up. We also want to mention the great service — all the staff were very responsive and always ready to help. The food at the hotel was fantastic. The main restaurant, Nura, delighted us every day with its variety of dishes, with plenty of meat and salads. On some days, they served seafood — the grilled shrimp and crabs were incredibly tasty. The hotel grounds are also very large and beautiful, with lots of places to take a stroll.
Overall, this is a beautiful hotel, and we had a wonderful ten-night stay in August.
From the moment you walk into the main reception on arrival, it really takes your breath away. Everything is finished to an incredibly high standard, and there was always a wonderful aroma throughout the reception area.
On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the reception team and, after completing the necessary paperwork, were invited to have a late dinner in the buffet restaurant. The food was consistently of a good standard, with plenty of variety. My partner is pescatarian, and there was always a good choice available for her, as well as plenty of options for meat lovers. After dinner, we were given a buggy ride to our room, which was a lovely touch.
The room itself was lovely on first impression. Unfortunately, the only downside was that we didn't receive the sea view we had paid extra for. This is something we will be taking up with the travel company, rather than the hotel. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard, and the fridge was regularly restocked with beer, soft drinks and plenty of water.
The resort's gardens are impeccably maintained by a team of hardworking gardeners, who continue working even in temperatures reaching 40°C. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, and we loved walking around them and seeing the variety of wildlife that calls the resort home.
The private beach is wonderful and perfect for snorkelling. There is a reef right along the shoreline, so the water is teeming with a diverse range of fish, which we absolutely loved. A special mention must go to M. Hamdy at the Beach Bar, who always made sure we stayed hydrated while enjoying the beach. He is a very hard worker, and we also saw him working away in the restaurant during our stay.
We alternated between beach and pool days and particularly enjoyed using the 16+ pool, which was lovely and peaceful. A huge shout-out to Hassan and Youseff at the pool, who looked after us extremely well. They both work incredibly hard, and we really appreciated their friendly service and hospitality.
The only real issue we experienced came on the final day of our holiday. The day before, we asked about extending our checkout time and were told that this wouldn't be a problem and that we simply needed to return after breakfast on our last day to pay a fee to extend our room until 6pm.
However, when we returned the following morning, we were told that this wouldn't be possible and that we had to vacate the room by 12 noon. At this point, we hadn't even started packing, and our transfer wasn't until 6:30pm, so understandably we were quite upset by this.
The member of reception staff we initially spoke to was adamant that we had to leave by midday. Thankfully, we were eventually able to speak to a manager, who was very helpful and managed to resolve the situation for us.
Unfortunately, this experience took a little of the shine off what was otherwise a really good holiday and is the only reason we have given four stars rather than five.
Despite this, we would still recommend the hotel. The beautiful surroundings, excellent gardens, wonderful beach and reef, good food and hardworking staff all contributed to a very enjoyable stay. With the issue on our final day aside, we had a fantastic holiday and would happily return.
