Excellent hotel

We stayed at Rixos Radamis for 10 nights as a family of four, with children aged 8 and 9. Overall, we had a really enjoyable holiday.

Check-in was smooth and straightforward. The wristbands are really nice and stylish and children are note required to wear them (win in my family) There are no requirements for Wi-Fi passwords you can sign straight in. The Wi-Fi was good throughout the resort, our 9-year-old didn’t complain once! .

We had quite a long wait for the concierge to take us to our room when we first arrived. There was no way we would have found the room on our own.

Our room We were upgraded to a beach-side room, which was a lovely bonus, We were in Block 23, and the room was beautiful. It felt relatively new and was extremely well maintained.

The room was enormous. You walk through the entrance into a wide hallway, with the first bathroom immediately to the right. This had a large shower, sink and toilet.

The living area was also huge, with a large sofa, a couple of armchairs, TV and a fully stocked mini bar. The main bedroom was accessed from the living room and was equally spacious, with a large, very comfortable double bed, TV, another mini bar and a walk-in dressing area with a desk/dressing table.

There was also a second bathroom with double sinks, a separate toilet and shower.

Both the living room and bedroom opened onto large balconies. Unfortunately, there was a partition separating them, which seemed a shame as they could easily have been one large, joined balcony.

The only other thing missing was somewhere to hang wet swimwear and clothes.

Family Sleeping Arrangements

we initially had the sofa bed made up in the living room For the children to share. We asked if an additional bed was available and this was provided and arranged within around 10 minutes. It was actually a proper, comfortable bed rather than the typical uncomfortable camp bed.

Personally, I think this room type would be even better with two single beds in the lounge area, as there is more than enough space, while keeping the large sofa as well.

There were plenty of towels throughout our stay and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We only had towel art once during our 10-night stay, but that really wasn’t an issue.

Mini Bar & Drinks

The mini bar was excellent and contained around 14 items, all of which were replenished free of charge.

There was also plenty of free bottled water, both still and sparkling, as well as cans of Coke, Fanta and Sprite and beer available around the resort. At the bars, you could simply help yourself, which was really convenient.

Pool towels were also very easy. There were no towel cards — you simply asked for towels and returned them when finished.

Waterpark The waterpark was the main reason we chose this hotel, so unfortunately this was where we were most disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong — the waterpark is good, but we all expected it to be much bigger based on what we had seen and heard. Apart from the family watercoaster there isn’t many thrill slides (neverland has a lot to live up to) The park has:

  • An absolutely epic family coaster — you fly around!
  • 5 ring slides
  • 2 drop slides
  • 1 racer slide
  • Children’s splash area with a bucket and smaller slides
  • Around 5–6 mini slides

There is also a large food court with plenty of grab-and-go options such as burgers, hot dogs and nuggets. There are additional paid outlets selling things like popcorn, candy floss and ice cream.

The rules at the waterpark are also very strict. Watches and jewellery aren’t permitted. Goggles aren’t allowed either. You can wear water shoes or go barefoot, but Crocs aren’t permitted.

Pools. So many to choice from:
We mainly used the pool outside our block which we were told was the quiet pool. We were also told the pool had only been open 20days. This pool was lovely you could always get a sun bed the lifeguards were really friendly and Ahmed and Ahmed at the bar were the best! Best frozen daiquiris. We also used the pool at Tarina twice the slip and slide was great fun but it felt very busy around this pool it also felt very compact. This is where most of the daytime activities happened too so was also very loud. Beach The beach is nice would definitely recommend water shoes. There are 4 jetties with some fantastic Snokling at the end. Jetty 1 lifeguard Mohammed (smiley as I named him) was fantastic. He arrange for his colleague to go in the water with my daughter and show her all the fishes he was in there with her for ages! Such an amazing experience for her. The following day he did the same with our son.
We didn’t sit on the beach but some areas seemed really squished together whilst others were spaced out so I’d recommend having a wonder.

Gondola Ride The gondolas were a nice experience and something different to do. For the four of us, it cost around £45 for a basic boat and the ride lasted approximately 10 minutes.

The booking and boarding system could definitely be improved.

Housekeeping & Service Our room was cleaned every day had no complaints. Would have maybe liked some more towel art but not the end of the world.

There was an occasion that my son was sick in the room when we called for housekeeping to attend to help clear it up. No one ever arrived to help us. I managed to do myself but with just soap and water. I found this very disappointing. As what do you really have in a hotel room to clean up.

Food and drink The food and drink were great, plenty of choice and options. So thing that annoyed me at breakfast was the poached egg station. The eggs were batch cooked so often were very hard and it wasn’t easy to ask for a soft poached egg.
We used the Sapphire restaurant which was very busy and really needs to the new restaurant to open to ease the customer flow. We had 3 à la carte meals with our stay. We optioned for t-bone Italian Mangal All very nice

Overall

Overall, we really enjoyed our 10-night stay at Rixos Radamis. The rooms are fantastic — spacious, modern, comfortable and extremely well maintained. The resort is huge and has plenty to keep families entertained, with excellent access to drinks and refreshments and very good Wi-Fi.

For us, the biggest disappointment was the waterpark. It is good, but we expected something much larger given that this was the main reason we chose the resort.

There were also a few service issues, particularly the housekeeping incident, which was disappointing.

Would we return? Yes, for the overall experience.

Corner

Corner restaurant, We had a wonderful experience at Corner Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish.

Especially from Andrew, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. He made our experience even more enjoyable.

Definitely a place I would recommend, and we’ll be happy to come back again!

Alex

Who wants to swim in the beach then forget it:(( because The water depth at the hotel’s beachfront is only 30 cm (all territory of the beachfront) . Even if you go farther into the sea, it remains like that. The only option is to go much farther out, to the pier, but there is only a small area there where everyone is crowded together. And if you are going with your family and children, it is even worse.

So, if you are going to Rixos Radamis, forget about swimming in the sea! There are swimming pools everywhere anyway.

As for the restaurant, the waiters reserve tables for people who give them money. In particular, there was an Arab female waiter in the Tirana corpus in Main Restaurant . Once you give her money, if you don’t give her anything the next day, she looks at you with an annoyed face.))

That’s why I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

A fantastic family holiday with a few areas that could be improved

We recently spent 7 nights at Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh with my husband and our six-year-old son, and overall we had a fantastic holiday. Despite an unfortunate accident involving our son during the stay, we enjoyed the hotel so much that we have already booked to return next August with my sister and her family.

Arrival & Room We arrived after midnight, but check-in was incredibly quick and the front-of-house team were very helpful, making arrangements for us to get to our room without any fuss.

The hotel is split into three main areas, with Blue Planet being the most central, Tirana being more family-orientated and closer to the beach, and the newer area situated near the beach. There is currently building work taking place around the resort. Our room actually faced one of the construction areas, but honestly, it didn’t bother us during our stay.

We stayed in a Deluxe Beach Side Room in Block 12, which was an excellent location for us. It was close to the pool and only a short walk to the restaurants and beach. The room itself was really spacious, comfortable and very nicely presented.

Food The food was outstanding.

The main buffet restaurant had an excellent choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and throughout the week we never struggled to find something we liked. The quality and variety were genuinely impressive.

We also ate at People’s, T-Bone and Mangal, with Mangal and People’s being our favourites. The food in the à la carte restaurants was excellent.

The only downside is the booking system. During a 7-night stay, we could only book three à la carte restaurants, and once those were booked we couldn’t make any further reservations. It would be nice to have a little more flexibility, particularly for guests staying a week or longer.

The buffet restaurant could also be better organised. Guests currently have to walk around looking for a table themselves. For a 5-star resort, I think it would be much better if staff seated guests as they entered, as we’ve experienced in other hotels in Europe and the Caribbean. It would also prevent the rather frustrating situation of other guests taking tables you’ve already found.

Pools & Waterpark There is a fantastic choice of pools throughout the resort. We only spent around three days properly enjoying the pool areas, but we never struggled to find a sunbed.

The lifeguards and pool attendants were excellent and always looked after us, even though we weren’t tipping them.

Our son absolutely loved the waterpark. We only spent a couple of hours there as he preferred going around the main pool, but it’s a fantastic facility and there is plenty to keep children entertained.

The Cabana The day after arriving, we had booked a cabana to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was such a lovely way to start our holiday.

We booked one of the $400 cabanas with a hot tub and private beach area, and it was absolutely worth doing for a special occasion. Our butler couldn’t have done enough for us, constantly bringing drinks, fresh fruit and even dinner. The service was fantastic and it made our anniversary feel really special.

Golf Buggy Transport The golf buggy shuttle service is a great idea and makes getting around such a large resort much easier.

However, the system could definitely be improved. On several occasions we were waiting for a buggy only for other guests to push in front and get on before us. Unfortunately, the drivers and security staff allowed this to happen rather than managing the queue.

A more organised queuing system would make a big difference.

Our Son’s Accident Unfortunately, on our second day, our holiday took an unexpected turn when our six-year-old son slipped while getting into the children’s pool and hit the back of his head on the concrete, resulting in a deep cut.

The lifeguard acted incredibly quickly and provided first aid. When the bleeding wouldn’t stop, a senior lifeguard came to assist and advised us to take him to the onsite medical centre.

At the medical centre, two nurses cleaned the wound and dressed it. As it continued to bleed, I asked to see the doctor. When the doctor arrived, he assessed the wound and explained that it was deep and would need stitches to heal properly. He was given a local anaesthetic before having the wound stitched and dressed.

Because of the stitches, he couldn’t get the wound wet, meaning he was unable to use the pool for at least two days. We also had to visit the medical centre each day to have the wound checked, cleaned and re-dressed.

Guest Services contacted us afterwards to check how he was doing and offered room service for our son, although unfortunately this wasn’t extended to myself and my husband. They did, however, continue to check in with us several times following the incident, which was appreciated.

The following day, we spent much of the day in our room. Guest Services arranged for us to speak with the manager, Ahmed Afifi, who explained that he had reviewed the CCTV footage. He confirmed that our son hadn’t been running or jumping into the pool and was really apologetic. We really appreciated the fact that the hotel took the incident seriously and reviewed what had happened rather than simply dismissing it.

A huge thank you to Alexandra from Guest Services and Manager Ahmed Afifi for the care and attention they gave us following the accident. They both went out of their way to make sure our son was okay and that, despite what had happened, we could still enjoy our holiday.

Overall Despite losing a couple of days of our holiday while our son recovered, we had a really enjoyable time at Rixos Radamis. Once he was able to get back into the pool and enjoy the facilities again, we made the most of the remaining four days.

The resort is beautiful, the food is excellent, the rooms are spacious and there is an incredible amount for families to do. The staff were generally very helpful and friendly.

There are definitely areas that could be improved — particularly the à la carte booking system, buffet seating, buggy queues and organisation of the kids’ club — but these didn’t stop us from having a great holiday.

We’ve already booked to return next August with my sister and her family, which probably says everything you need to know.
