Rixos Premium Seagate

Very good food, perfect serve! The restaurant is very elegant and it feels pleasent.

Stayed from June 3rd-June15th family of 4, kids aged 4 and 6.

Check in - arrived around 9:30pm after travelling from UK. First impressions were nice, clean and impressive looking lobby. We were however just really looking to get checked in and get to bed. We booked online and had selected aqua room, which we now know is on the other side of the hotel with its own check in reception etc. we were told we could move more central in the main part of the hotel for £40 per night charge. I said no, and the man at reception went away and came back shortly and gave us an upgraded room anyway? Seemed strange how they were going to charge first. So we agreed to the upgrade, but said we needed two single beds and one double/king bed. We were taken via golf cart to the room with two tired children only to find a cot in the room, and my daughter is 4 so we had to get them to come and deliver a bed almost 10:30pm after travelling all day it was a bit of a pain.

Room - the room itself was decorated nice and was modern, but had some flaws. The toilet flush which is a plate stuck to the wall fell off every time you flushed the toilet. The shower flooded the bathroom floor every time it was used, the air con leaked all over the floor and down the walls on the last two nights, the safe wouldn’t pop open when you put your code in you’d have to use your room key to jam it open, and the balcony was barely big enough for the two chairs and table out there, not to mention a view of a concrete wall of the buffet restaurant.

Food - the food in the main buffet we found to be often nicer than the food in the restaurants. The worst part about this whole hotel is the booking system for the restaurants. You’re supposed to log on to the app every day at 4pm and select a restaurant for the following evening. By 4:01 every single restaurant was fully booked. I had to message the customer relations team and also go up to their desk at reception and they made a big song and dance about how they had made “special reservations” to get us booked in for 4 nights in a row. This just made the trip stressful having to constantly go back and forth trying to get in places. Our second night we booked the Italian for 7pm only to arrive and be told we weren’t booked in, asked if we could just sit down as a walk in instead as there was not ONE customer in the restaurant, we were turned away and told it was booking system only. Just shambolic.

The Asian restaurant was by far the best. The rest I wouldn’t bother. Average, bland food, poor service and just seem to rush you and want you in and out asap. In the Asian restaurant we were served the wrong drinks twice, two dishes that we didn’t order came out and my daughter’s desert was wrong. Just poor.

Drinks - easy to get any drink you like if you’re Russian. My wife was stood at the bar waiting to be served and was next in line. The bar staff at the fountain pool completely ignored her and served a Russian man who had just arrived. This happened all the time and lots of women would mention not being served too. The beer is cans of Heineken, desperados, Egyptian Stella or another Egyptian lager. The only draught lager I could find was down by the beach near the smoothie bar. Minibar in room stocked daily with beer, wine, soft drinks and water. You have to tip if you want any sort of decent service which, when you consider our trip was almost £5.5k is a little crazy especially in Egypt.

Pools - they were all great and the kids enjoyed, especially the fountain pool With the swim up bar. Unfortunately I found a dirty used nappy in the pool one day and it had to be shut down for the rest of the day to be cleaned. Not the hotels fault really but could have been checked as it had been in there longer than a day, it was stuck underneath the lip of the pool where it filters.

Aqua park - again kids loved this, there were quite a few of the slides out of order not really sure why but didn’t look used in years. The shuttle bus to and from the aqua park from the main hotel is absolute carnage. The locals and Russians do not queue (read this in numerous other reviews before we went). When the bus arrived we had been waiting and were there first so you’d expect them to let you on first, oh no. It was a free for all, and the guests arriving back could barely get off before locals and Russians were climbing over them to get a seat. I asked the security guard to solve the situation but he didn’t speak a word of English and did nothing. Embarrassing.

Entertainment- we had two young kids and it’s not really our thing but if you enjoy listening to Russian music all night until past midnight, with speakers that could sit on stage at Glastonbury then fair enough. There was something different ion each night and the staff/dancers worked hard etc but it wasn’t for us. We were a few hundred metres away in our room and our headboard was vibrating at midnight from the speakers.

Overall, we were pretty disappointed after spending so much money and hearing such good things about this hotel. Absolutely everything is catered towards Russian guests. Russian speaking staff, Russian direction signs around the hotel, Russian entertainment. And in the buffet they do not queue and push past people, don’t use manners etc. ruined our trip.

Loads more I could say but all in all we wouldn’t go back here as we paid the same amount for Dubai in 2025 and it’s not even a comparison, we’ll be heading back to the UAE again as it knocks this hotel out the park.
