A truly 5 star resort
We came all the way from Canada to visit Egypt and staying at Pickalbatros Royal Moderna was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were really impressed with how incredibly clean and well maintained the entire resort is. Really one of the cleanest places we have stayed in.
Rooms are modern, clean and spacious. We stayed there, and one of our kids had a little accident in the middle of the night. In a matter of minutes, a staff member was at our door, and within a short time all the bed linens had been changed with a smile. The staff were amazing so friendly fast and professional.
The pools are well maintained and in perfect conditions. As parents, we especially appreciated that there was always a lifeguard on duty, which gave us peace of mind while our children were enjoying the water.
The food was excellent. There was always a great variety to choose from, and everything was fresh and plentiful. The kitchen staff were always friendly, smiling and happy to accommodate special requests including food allergies.
It's the people that make this resort special. The entire staff works so hard to make sure their guests have the best experience possible and it shows in every detail.
Our family and I really did leave a piece of our hearts at Pickalbatros Royal Moderna. We made unforgettable memories here and promised ourselves that we would return one day.
I can't compare it to the other resorts in the area but I can say that Pickalbatros Royal Moderna is a true 5 star resort in every sense. We strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend an unforgettable holiday in Egypt.

Great location, and snorkeling was great. All the staff is amazing. Food was okay, wish more Ala carte. No pushiness and there is loads of kindness from all staff.

Our trip to Egypt was unforgettable. In fact it was one of the best holidays. From the moment we crossed the door of the hotel we immediately felt at home. From the very beginning the guest relationship service help us in every aspect to make this trip special. Even when our kid felt sick a bit they did everything to overcome the situation. They really work hard to make the guests get best holiday with lifetime memories. Thank you soooo much! You are the best! ❤

🌟 Reception & Guest Relations The reception team and guest relations staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and proactive. Their warm approach made every interaction easy and set a positive tone for the entire stay.
🎭 Entertainment
- The local Egyptian entertainers were fantastic—energetic, engaging, and full of personality.
- Some of the overseas entertainers felt a little lost and low‑energy in comparison. Not poor performers, but they didn’t match the enthusiasm of the local team.
🧹 Housekeeping & Personal Support A special thank you to Sayed (3201) and Mohammed (3215 & 3217).
- Their room cleaning was consistently to a very high standard—spotless, organised, and thoughtful.
- They created fantastic towel origami each day, which added a lovely personal touch.
- Most importantly, they were incredibly supportive of my father, who was very frail. Their kindness and patience went far beyond routine service.
🏊 Pool Area & Lifeguards
The pool areas were immaculate—clean, well‑maintained, and comfortable throughout the day.
The lifeguards were attentive and kept a proper eye on swimmers, which gave us real peace of mind.
🍹 Bars, Restaurants & Vegetarian Cuisine
The bar staff were excellent, regularly refilling our drinks without us needing to ask.
Restaurant staff were equally attentive and helpful.
As vegetarians, we often find resort food repetitive after a few days—but Royal Moderna truly catered for us:
