Pickalbatros Aqua Blu Resort Sharm El Sheikh

We stayed from 21 April for 10 nights. The reception staff were really helpful and friendly. We got there at 10.30pm, so very tired and hot. The gentleman at reception sent us to the late night buffet to eat and drink and arranged for our luggage to be taken to our rooms. I'd sent an email asking for our 2 rooms to be together and near to the lobby/restaurants. Not only did he make sure of this, but he also upgraded one of our rooms to a spacious 2 bedroom family suite! This room was really nice with lots of room in the dressing area. The walk in shower was huge and good pressure. The balcony overlooked a huge round pool area. It was a lovely place to relax. In the mornings you could see the staff cleaning the pools, infact the staff at this hotel always seem to be cleaning! We went on a couple of trips including a Mount Sinai hike and Cairo by plane. Reception provided us all a breakfast box consisting of juice, fruits, sandwiches & croissants. How nice. Reception were great and went out of their way to make sure our stay was easy and enjoyable. The staff at the towel collection point near the big round pool where we tended to spend a lot of time, was really friendly and always joked around with my children. The lifeguards were so good and professional. The one at the round pool near reception was really good and helped my daughter out of the pool when he saw her struggling one time. The lifeguards always had their eyes peeled and we felt really safe all the time. There were over 20 pools at this hotel so it never felt busy and all had a lifeguard on each. I can't remember the room numbers now i think ours was 7011 7012 or there abouts. Our cleaner was called Mdoh i think. He was amazing always smiling and made towel animals and my children used to look forward to seeing these everyday after we'd been to the waterpark. Hos cleaning was fab, and he always provided extra water bottles and toilet rolls whenever we asked straight away. The staff at the buffets were all great and helped with anything we asked for. There was one called Ahmed i think who used to work at the pasta stations around the hotel. He was the best, he just wanted to provide the best service ever! To be honest this whole hotel had great staff and it's a shame i can't acknowledge them all. As for the hotel, the water park was out of this world, it literally felt like we were staying in a theme park. It was all so bright and colorful and cheery. Tons of slides from big to small. My children always talk about it saying 'do you remember this, or that. The rooms were lovely. The air-conditioned lobby area was so nice to relax in with a drink. Tvs all over the bar area near the lobby - great for the husband and son to watch their football games. The food was great and varied. They had outside cooking stations. Burger/pasta station in the waterpark. Ice cream stand, and crepes aswell. We never went hungry, always stuffed bellies! Only one time my son insisted we get a big mac so we trekked to the local macdonalds which ended up being a 10 minute walk. There's a pharmacy outside the back exit of the hotel, across the steet, very handy. Lots of shops nearby. The local market and the very beautiful Al Sahaba mosque is a 5 min taxi ride away. My husband and son went there for the friday prayers and said the atmosphere was really great. There's a mosque just outside the hotel too for people who want to go for prayers, some staff go there too. One of the great things about staying here is that we could use the sister hotel across the road called Aqua Blue which had its own water park, including a wave poor and a crazy river! We could eat meals there too and use all their facilities. Outside that hotel from their reception area, there were many shops and it was bright and bustling on an evening, lovely to stroll around. There was also a free shuttle bus every half an hour or so outside our hotel reception, which took 5 or 10 mins to take us to the private beach. We could use all the facilities at the beach, sunbeds, bar area, lunch buffet (burgers, pastas, nuggets etc.) Toilets and showers. Little shopping area where you can have fun haggling for bits and bobs. We purchased a snorkel mask so we could see all the fishes in the sea. The beach was rocky so we had our aqua shoes on, the water was lovely and clear. We went here after breakfast and got back to our hotel before dinner, we all had a fun day at this beach. There was lots of watersports being sold, but we didn't fancy it. We just chilled around the beach and swam and saw the fishes. There's a mini store in the hotel grounds if you want to buy some last minute souvenirs or just sweets and chocs. There's a supermarket down the road a 5 minute walk called Mango market. This has fixed reasonable prices and you can get all sorts from there, it's great. You don't need much money as it's all sooo very all inclusive! But there's a couple of cash machines in the hotel reception. It's always good to have some egyptian pounds for tips etc as the staff more than deserve them. We used mosquito repellent bracelets every evening and didn't get bit apart from at the end on the last day, how strange! After check out, we left our cases in the lugguge area and then reception carried on letting us use all the facilities all day till we left for the airport at 8.30pm. We found sharm airport annoying as way too many security checks, they must have looked at everyones passports about 20 times each! Sorry for such a long review, but to all the staff at pickalbatros aqua park, we loved you all and my children will never forget you and your lovely hotel and country. They will treasure the memories! We hope to revisit as soon as we can god willing!
