This exclusive 5 stars hotel located in Hadabet Om El Seed is right in the centre of IL Mercato Promenade which is home to some of the biggest International brands. IL Mercato promenade is an inspired creation from well-known Italian architect Daniele Morelli. Professor Morelli, a Renaissance expert who studied at the prestigious Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence, is famed for his ability to accurately create contemporary buildings that are informed by iconic classical Roman and Venetian architecture that share the same sense of style, time and place.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel .my kids enjoyed alot with all water features plus the most important part Mrs Esraa at kids club .she make thier time full of joy and fun .also animation team especially Nader .Tarek at restaurant very polite and serve with love but food quailty is acceptable only.only both receptionist guys was bad I don't like thier attitude
Okay, this hotel was once the pride and joy of the Mercado precinct before the wealthy investors decided to pull out of the district and build elsewhere, as is the practice in certain areas. However the hotel offers value for money, yes the food could be better but there are a few local eateries you could venture out to eat, after all the all inclusive didn't set you back much staying here. We have been to this hotel a couple of times, used as a base for scuba diving trips, the last time we had to cancel last minute due to emergency surgery of one of our party and the hotel offered a refund or rebook at no extra cost. Pretty good service.
We stayed at Il Mercato as a group of 4 adults and 8 children and overall had a really enjoyable holiday.
The aqua park was a massive hit with the children and was definitely one of the highlights of the stay. Having McDonald’s literally next to the aqua park was also very handy, especially when travelling with so many children!
What really made the holiday for us was the level of service, particularly from Mahmoud Kamal, the Il Mercato Manager. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was spot on for our families and was always approachable, helpful and professional. Any requests we had were dealt with properly and he genuinely made an effort to ensure we enjoyed the rest of our stay.
We also opted for a late checkout on our final day, which was arranged completely hassle-free and made a huge difference with the children before travelling home.
A special mention also has to go to our cleaner, Abdul Hamid. He was absolutely brilliant throughout the holiday and especially good with the kids. He was always friendly, welcoming and did a great job looking after our rooms. The children really took to him, which was lovely to see.
The food could become a little repetitive over a longer stay, but there was generally enough choice to find something to eat and it certainly didn’t spoil our holiday.
Overall, we had a great family stay. The aqua park was excellent for the kids, the location was convenient, and the service from Mahmoud Kamal and Abdul Hamid really stood out. They are both a credit to Il Mercato and helped make our holiday a memorable one.
Would happily recommend Il Mercato to families travelling with children.
This hotel is lovely. Yes it needs refurbishing which they are in the process of doing, however for what I paid, I could not complain. The buildings are lovely Italian style and make a change from the grain of modern new hotels. The staff here are a huge asset to this hotel, so friendly, helpful and will do anything to make your stay a great one. I travelled alone to Egypt for the first time, I felt safe, respected and would happily stay here again solo. The aqua park looked amazing for children. There were also 2 other pools located in inner open air courtyards where there was an option of shade or sun where I saw many children too. There were 2 pools on the roof top also, one being adults only where I spent my time. These were open to the intense sun (which is what I went for!) but umbrellas shaded between every 3rd sunbed. I never saw any instances where you needed to be up early to pick a sunbed either. Lifeguard would check and lay your towel out for you on arrival and check in with you through out the day to make sure everything was good. Main evening entertainment was upstairs on the roof top where they had mini disco and an evening program. The entertainment area and the bar being located in between the 2 pools. A big thank you to the bar staff there. One particular gentleman who worked from 10am till midnight every day. Your drink was pretty much ready and waiting for you when you walked over to the bar, always happy and friendly. The drinks are limited however there was an air conditioned lobby bar which had piano music, saxophonist etc at an evening which had a wider drinks choice. The food was repetitive and the restaurant could do with a little more choice and being bigger however, all inclusive buffets are all the same. You could sit in an open air inner courtyard to eat or the air conditioned restaurant area. The rooftop à la carte meal which was FOC once during my week stay was beautiful. Rooms are dated but bedding and towels are immaculately clean, the woodwork does need cleaning. Thank you to my cleaner who was always around if anything was needed. Large 1.5ltr bottles of water provided regularly which I took to the pool each day and filled up throughout the day from the water cooler. Also tea, sugar and a kettle provided, I asked for coffee sachets and received them straight away. You need to remember the rule, you get what you pay for, and I couldn’t expect ultra luxury, I knew that as I didn’t pay for it. On day of check out, my airport transfer was not arriving until 8.30pm, I paid the equivalent of £44 for an evening extension to my room, meaning my last day was spent in the sun and then back to pack and get ready, then a visit to the restaurant to eat before pick up. Well worth paying the extra for. All in all a good hotel for the price and I will return. There are shops and a few eating places located just outside the restaurant, coffee and ice cream shops and apparently the grill house across the street do beautiful food at low prices so options available if you need a break from the all inclusive . I had an amazing first time trip to Egypt and as a solo traveller, I would happily return to this hotel.
