Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Having just spent a week at Fort Arabesque in West Bay, the adults only section I can totally understand why there were so many repeat guests. Firstly there was the snorkelling which was the main thing that attracted us to this hotel. It was absolutely incredible! We literally walked in from the beach via a roped channel to protect the coral which meant that even the most nervous of swimmers could enjoy the spectacular marine life without having to go out of their depth. The variety of form and colour rivals that which I had seen in The Great Barrier Reef. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and set amongst well-tended, pretty gardens with a great variety of eating and drinking areas. The buffet restaurant in West Bay was excellent with a wonderful choice of food to suit all tastes. It was fresh, plentiful and tasty. Alongside the buffet is the Mexican corner, Thai, Indian and Italian corners. I particularly enjoyed the freshly wok-fried stir fries cooked by Chef Keng but all the food was tasty. The managers and West Bay restaurant staff were attentive and particular mention goes to Ahmed and Karim who became our main waiters - always there with a smile and remembering our preferred drinks. The waiter-serviced Greek Restaurant was delicious and the manager Ibrahim remembered us from the day we had placed our reservation and warmly welcomed us back. Our main waiters were Sultan and Ali who, like all staff were well-trained and professional. There are several bars but our favourite was the bar in reception where we were mainly served by the lovely Ayman who was always so happy at his work and makes a great cocktail! In the evenings he can also be found at the West Bay pool bar where we enjoyed regular live, chilled out music. During the day Yasser was fantastic keeping an eye on guests round the West Bay pool, checking those who needed shade had it and always ready with a smile and chat and Moamen regularly served drinks to us, again with a bright smile. Would love to mention more names but suffice to say from start to finish every member of staff was friendly, professional and went out of their way to ensure all guests needs were attended to.
When I stayed at Rixos Premium Magawish in Hurghada in June, I also visited Fort Arabesque. I work in a travel agency and whenever I have the opportunity, I like to personally visit hotels that I sell to my clients.
During that visit, I was shown around the hotel by a very kind young member of staff who communicated with me in Russian. He took plenty of time to show me the different parts of the hotel and gave me a lot of useful and detailed information. Thanks to him, I was able to get a very good impression of the hotel during my very first visit.
I liked Fort Arabesque so much that as soon as I returned home, I immediately booked a one-week stay in the West Bay section. I came back at the end of August with friends.
I was staying alone in my room and had booked a Premium room with a sea view. When making the reservation, I requested a ground-floor room and I really appreciated that the hotel fulfilled my request. I did indeed receive a beautiful ground-floor room with a lovely view.
Although the hotel is officially rated four stars, in my opinion the level of service is better than in quite a few five-star hotels. Through both my work and personal travels, I know many hotels in Hurghada, Makadi Bay and Sahl Hasheesh, and I would definitely rank Fort Arabesque very highly.
I was pleasantly surprised that the minibar was included in the price of the stay. I was also impressed to find several types of fresh juice available at breakfast, something that is often associated more with Ultra All Inclusive hotels.
The main restaurant in West Bay deserves a special mention. The staff were highly professional, the food was excellent, varied and changed regularly. Everything was very well seasoned and the presentation of the buffet was exemplary.
One person in our group follows a gluten-free diet, and this was another area where the hotel pleasantly surprised us. Every day, a chef personally walked him through the restaurant and showed him which dishes were suitable for him. Gluten-free pasta was also always prepared for him. A big compliment to the kitchen and to the hotel for this level of personal attention.
From the à la carte options, we chose the dinner by the sea in one of the pavilions. Once again, the food was very tasty. The dishes were grilled, there were several options to choose from and there was live music during dinner. It was a very enjoyable evening. It is worth knowing, however, that although the dinner itself was included in our stay, drinks had to be paid for separately.
The entire resort is very spacious and consists of three different sections – The Villas, Beach Resort and West Bay. In my opinion, the size of the resort is actually one of its advantages. In the evening, it is lovely to walk around the grounds. The gardens are beautifully maintained and you can constantly see staff taking care of them. After dark, the entire resort is very nicely illuminated.
In the different sections of the hotel you can find live music and evening entertainment, so there is always something to choose from depending on your mood.
I would also like to mention the bars. In the lobby bar in West Bay there was an excellent bartender who made fantastic drinks, not only in terms of taste but also presentation. We experienced the same high standard of service at the Jungle Bar by the pool.
We also really enjoyed going to Luuma, the Mexican bar by the beach. The drinks were excellent, the setting was very pleasant and everything was clearly explained. If you wanted something extra, for example a strawberry daiquiri prepared with fresh strawberries, there was an additional charge, but the price list was clearly displayed, so you knew exactly what you were paying for. The ice creams were very tasty and were included in the All Inclusive.
The only significant negative point I have to mention is the Wi-Fi.
Because I also work while travelling, I need to keep my work data secure. I therefore use both antivirus software and a VPN on my laptop. A member of staff at reception explained to me that this might have been the reason why I had problems connecting to the hotel Wi-Fi.
I understand that technical settings can vary, but during the same year I also worked from Rixos Premium Magawish and Steigenberger Pure Lifestyle, often almost nonstop, and despite using the same antivirus software and VPN, I had no similar problems connecting to their Wi-Fi.
At Fort Arabesque I was practically unable to use the hotel Wi-Fi on my laptop and had to rely on my own mobile data from my phone instead.
For guests who need to work during their stay, I think this is definitely something that could be improved. If this issue were solved, the stay would have been practically perfect for me.
And now to the very best part – the beach and the sea.
Together with my friends, we also used the beach service and I have to say it was absolutely excellent. But for me, the greatest treasure of Fort Arabesque is the sea itself.
The underwater world directly in front of the hotel is incredibly rich and colourful. I have seen many beautiful places, including the Maldives, but what I experienced in the sea at Fort Arabesque genuinely impressed me. The amount of fish, corals and colours just a few metres from the shore is truly beautiful.
For me, it was pure therapy for the soul.

Can't fault this place. Superb beachfront location and the snorkeling was amazing! Saw a turtle, hundreds of different fish, a giant moray eel, and drifted for hours over the coral gardens on the house reef. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Service was great. Clean, spacious room. Netflix and prime were on the smart TV. We stayed in the beach resort and had the super all inclusive upgrade so got a reserved beach bed and could use the restaurants in the west bay as well as beach resort. Tasty food - the buffets, especially the one in the west bay area had so much choice we didn't need to eat at an alacarte once. Nice tasty food. Worth every penny. We will be back!
The hotel itself is really lovely – so much green space, beautiful gardens, and just an overall great vibe.
But honestly, what made our holiday so amazing was Kaan from the animation team! He’s super friendly and just has such great vibes. What I loved most was that he never pressured me to join in when I just wanted to chill, but playing darts with him ended up being my favorite part of the trip haha. Really appreciated his energy, he made the whole stay so much better! 🫶
Definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back again!
