Swiss Inn Resort Hurghada – Disappointing Experience
Unfortunately, our experience at the Swiss Inn Resort Hurghada was quite disappointing overall. We definitely expected much more from a resort in this category.
Our first major disappointment was the food. The resort welcomes international guests, yet we found the buffet to be mainly focused on Arabic cuisine, with a rather limited selection of international dishes. This is not a criticism of local cuisine, which can actually be a wonderful part of a trip to Egypt, but in an international resort we would have expected much more variety and a wider range of options. On top of that, we found the overall quality of the food rather poor. We also tried both the Italian restaurant and the seafood restaurant, and unfortunately we were very disappointed with both: the dishes and overall quality were well below our expectations.
Another particularly negative aspect was the SPA, which comes at an additional charge. We found it old, poorly maintained, and with equipment that was not working properly. The jacuzzi, for example, was only partially functioning. Even worse were the towels provided: they were visibly worn out, discoloured and stained, and also had a very unpleasant smell. I will attach a photo which clearly shows the condition of one of the towels we were given. The level of professionalism at the SPA was also very disappointing. For a paid SPA service inside a resort, we would expect completely different standards.
We were also disappointed with the management of the beach. At around 6:00 pm, the beach was effectively closed and guests were asked to leave. We understand that a resort may have specific rules and opening hours, but in a destination such as Hurghada, where the sea is one of the main reasons for choosing a resort, we found it very disappointing not to be able to simply stay on the beach towards sunset.
However, we would also like to highlight one genuinely positive aspect: the waiters, bartenders and maintenance staff were always friendly, helpful and smiling. They worked hard and did their best to assist guests whenever needed. They were definitely one of the best aspects of our stay, and they deserve our thanks.
It is a shame, because with greater attention to the quality and variety of the food, maintenance, and especially the SPA, this resort could offer a very different experience. Unfortunately, our stay was well below our expectations and, in our opinion, not up to the standard we would expect from a resort in this category.
It was our first time in Egypt, so we did not know what to expect.. But we can say that it was much better than we could imagine.. All the working staff were really kind, hard working and made our trip feel fantastic.. Food was amazing, made with care, so tasty.. We had most fantastic view from our room, so sitting on the terace was relaxing and great for chilling.. We need to say that our trip would not be like it was, if it was not for Daria, who always asked us if our time was nice, she was really attentive and caring.. And speciall thanks for Ahmed who is working on the towels, and for Ahmed who is working in the pool bar.. You will be in our hearts, and we can’t wait to come next year to see you all again.
Terrible staff to deal with. They have got issues with Egyptians.
Hotel looks nice, and rooms are good but cleanliness not so good. Food in 6 restaurants not very diffrent,only few choises every day. We want to give credits to very good staff, especially to Mohamed Alaa Zohdy in Lebanese restaurant who was always very friendly and good with service!
Staying in rooms 2203 and 2204, this was, without a doubt, the absolute worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. Everything went wrong from start to finish, and the lack of cooperation from the staff was appalling. First, we found a flying cockroach inside our room. Second, the food quality is very poor. Lunch was far below average and did not cater to different tastes. Since there was nothing suitable for my child to eat, we politely asked the restaurant manager if we could substitute his lunch with a plate of French fries. To our shock, he refused and told us we had to pay extra for fries. As a result, my child couldn't eat anything proper for three days except for plain French fries. Today, when we went back to the room to rest after the beach, we found the bed completely infested with bed bugs. We called the reception immediately, asked them to change all the bed linens, and told them we would be waiting in the connected room until someone came to clean it. When we checked back on the room, all they had done was fold a towel, pretending as if they changed the sheets. When we checked the sheets closely, we found long hairs all over the bed, which I immediately recognized as my own since I have very long hair—proving they didn't even change the sheets! We called them again demanding that someone come and change everything properly. There was a total lack of cooperation, and no one showed up for hours. It wasn't until around 8:00 PM that someone finally came to change the linens. Avoid this resort if you want a clean, comfortable, and stress-free vacation.
