We just returned from Sun Siyam Vilu Reef and had a wonderful stay. The highlight for us was the house reef, one of the best we've seen in the Maldives. Right off the island we snorkeled with reef sharks, stingrays and turtles, among huge numbers of fish and healthy, living coral. You don't need to book a boat trip to see amazing marine life; it's all right there.
The rooms felt fresh and clean. There's a wide choice of food and plenty of entertainment, so we never got bored.
A special mention goes to Chef Chaminda at Acqua restaurant. He's a true professional who clearly loves what he does. He kindly treated us to a fish dish, and it was one of the most delicious meals of our trip: perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The restaurant staff in general were very friendly, attentive and polite, which made every meal a pleasure.
A couple of things to be aware of. The extra excursions and activities are very expensive, and we noticed that hardly anyone takes them. Also, construction is still going on at the new wing of water villas. The villas themselves are finished and guests are already staying there, but the works were still noticeable during our stay.
Overall, a beautiful resort with an outstanding reef and excellent dining. We'd happily come back.
We just spent a wonderful week at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. The team is simply outstanding, and what really makes the difference here are the little touches and thoughtful attention we received from every staff member, every single day.
A special mention goes to Zidh, who looked after us throughout our entire stay. We were in touch with him daily, and he responded to even the smallest request with kindness and efficiency. He made us feel truly cared for from start to finish.
The food was excellent and wonderfully varied. We ate superbly at the Aqua buffet restaurant, where the selection changed constantly. Chef Cinnomon Chami amazed us with his creations. His dishes and his inventive blends of flavours make him a true artist. Nizam and his team also took wonderful care of us every time we came to the restaurant. The Italian restaurant and Well Done, the seafood restaurant, were excellent as well.
The bar was another highlight of our stay. Marcel and the rest of the team took incredibly good care of us. They always asked about us whenever we came by and kept suggesting new things to try, each one better than the last. Their warmth and creativity made every visit to the bar a real pleasure.
As for the setting, the natural beauty of the island is breathtaking, and the cleanliness is impeccable throughout. The rooms were spotless, and the staff's attention to detail was evident everywhere.
We recommend this resort without hesitation and hope to return very soon!
It is certain that there are countless places with picture-book character in the Maldives. Among them is without a doubt Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. But it only becomes special through the people who do everything every day to offer the guests a great holiday.
Whether it is dinner, lunch or breakfast at Aqua, the service team around Vijay, Shayan, Rita and Morshad always makes sure you have absolutely everything you need. They all are extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. Chefs like Faruk and Younos create unique and diverse delicacies that you look forward to ahead of time. Serving from fried eggs and omelettes that look picture-perfect in the morning to fabulous curries in the evening. At the à la carte restaurant, Well Done, dedicated staff members like Dilshad guide you through a fine dining culinary experience, while you can enjoy the wonderful service of Cella and Yash during a sundowner at the bar.
Babul does a wonderful job keeping the villa spotless and surprises guests with beautiful palm leaf artwork on the bed — whether for a birthday, a warm welcome or other special occasions. For any other needs, our host Aminath is an excellent and reliable first point of contact.
Last but not least: the dive team and its boat crew. They all – first and foremost Azeem – made me fall in love with something I used to be terrified of. Right from the very first second, they make you feel safe, share their deep knowledge of the underwater world and give their all to provide an unforgettable experience, on which you see turtles, rays, sharks, octopuses, all imaginable fish, anemones and corals. We even got to marvel at a rare leopard shark! Every single dive guide, including Aush, Samaal, Akko and Ziyan, does an outstanding and conscientious job, catering perfectly to everyone from first-timers and absolute beginners to experienced divers. Meanwhile, on board Saibe, Nazim and the captain Wahid take great care of the equipment, ensure a relaxed journey to the next dive site and keep everyone happy between dives with water, coffee, tea, biscuits and fresh fruit. What more could you possibly ask for?

Our Maldives vacation was absolutely fantastic! We had so many amazing experiences during our stay. We saw dolphins, enjoyed snorkeling in the beautiful clear water, and were thrilled to see manta rays and even little sharks swimming right past us. Every snorkeling trip felt like a new adventure, and the marine life was incredible.
The water villa with a slide was also a highlight of our stay. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the ocean view was simply beautiful. We had a truly relaxing and enjoyable holiday here, and everything made our trip very special. We left with lots of wonderful memories and would happily recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun Maldives getaway.
The Rooms is beautiful especially the grand water valley. It's clean. And We had a wonderful time in the Maldives and really enjoyed our stay. We were lucky enough to see dolphins during the trip, and the snorkeling was absolutely amazing. We saw manta rays and even had small sharks swimming right in front of us, which was such an exciting experience! The ocean was beautiful and the whole trip was full of unforgettable moments. We also stayed in a water villa with a slide, which was incredibly comfortable and fun. It was so relaxing to wake up surrounded by the ocean and enjoy the beautiful views. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and made so many happy memories here. We would definitely love to come back again!
