Opening in November 2016, Milaidhoo Island Maldives is a boutique luxury resort in the Baa Atoll UNESCO biosphere reserve, close to Hanifaru Bay, 80 miles north-west of the capital city, Malé. Not just another five star resort in the Maldives, Milaidhoo likes to do things differently: it's called reinvented luxury. It's perfect for nature lovers as its own coral reef, which encircles the island, is a protected area and noted as an outstanding snorkelling and diving site in its own right. The tiny beautiful island, abundant with tropical greenery, measures just 300m by 180m and is fringed by white soft deep sand beaches.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Our stay at Milaidhoo was absolutely unforgettable. I had high expectations before coming here, but the experience was even better than I imagined.
One of the highlights of our trip was the snorkeling. I went snorkeling almost every single day, and every time I went into the water, there was something new to discover. We were lucky enough to see sharks three times, stingrays four times, and dolphins twice during our stay. Seeing dolphins in the open ocean was such a magical experience that I will never forget. 🐬
I really wanted to see a sea turtle, but unfortunately, we didn't get to see one this time. Surprisingly, I don't even feel disappointed about it. Instead, I feel like I have one more reason to come back to Milaidhoo. Hopefully, next time I will finally meet the turtles! 🐢
The restaurants were another highlight of our stay. We went to the Ocean Restaurant almost every day, visited Batheli once, and Compass about three times. Every meal was delicious, and we genuinely looked forward to eating every day.
What I loved most was not only the food but also the atmosphere. The restaurants never felt crowded, and the private, peaceful setting made every meal feel special. Sitting by the ocean, enjoying amazing food and watching the sunset was exactly what I wanted from a Maldives vacation.
And the sunsets at Milaidhoo… absolutely beautiful. 🌅 Every evening, the sky seemed to create a completely different view. We often made time just to sit and watch the sunset, and those quiet moments ended up being some of my favorite memories of the trip.
Another thing I truly enjoyed was the yoga program. I joined yoga almost every day, and it became such a wonderful part of my daily routine during the vacation.
And Jonathan, the yoga instructor, was absolutely amazing! His classes were excellent, and his energy made every session even more enjoyable. I really appreciated being able to stay active while still feeling completely relaxed during the holiday.
I also joined the Aqua Yoga class on Saturday, which was such a fun and unique experience. Doing yoga in the water in such a beautiful setting was something I had never experienced before, and it was definitely one of the memorable moments of the trip.
But perhaps what I loved most about Milaidhoo was the feeling of privacy and tranquility. It never felt overly crowded or busy. There was always a sense of space and peace, while at the same time there were plenty of things to enjoy whenever we wanted to be active.
Every day felt so simple and perfect — snorkeling in the ocean, enjoying delicious food, watching the sunset, doing yoga, and sometimes just doing absolutely nothing.
Looking back, I feel like I had exactly the kind of vacation I needed.
There are so many beautiful resorts in the Maldives, so choosing where to stay was not easy. But I can honestly say that choosing Milaidhoo was one of the best decisions we made.
I didn't get to see a sea turtle this time, but maybe that's a good thing. It gives me a reason to come back.
Sharks, stingrays, dolphins… next time, I'm coming back for the turtle. 🐢🤍

Our stay at Milaidhoo was truly unforgettable. Of course, the island itself is absolutely beautiful, the villa was wonderful, and everything was exactly as we had hoped. But what truly impressed me the most was the hospitality. The level of care and attention to guests at Milaidhoo is simply WOW. I have stayed at many beautiful resorts, but here you really feel that guest satisfaction is not just a phrase — it is genuinely at the heart of everything they do. What impressed me most was how thoughtful and well-organized everything was. So many little details are carefully considered, and the staff genuinely care about how you feel and whether you are happy. They don't simply provide a service — they pay attention, they anticipate your needs, and they constantly try to make your experience better. You can really feel that the entire team takes pride in creating a memorable experience for every guest. This level of hospitality is something very special, and honestly, it surprised me in the best possible way. I would especially like to mention our wonderful butler, Abdullah. He was exceptional from the very first day. He was always there when we needed him, always with a smile, and always incredibly attentive. He made everything so easy and comfortable for us. My son even gave him his own special name — “Mr. Butler Abdullah” — and that says everything about how much he loved him! ❤️ One of our most memorable moments was when Abdullah surprised us with a beautiful dolphin made from palm leaves and a framed photo of us. It was such a thoughtful and personal gesture, and something we will remember for a long time. And this is exactly what I think makes Milaidhoo so special. It is not only the incredible setting or the beautiful villas — it is the people and the genuine care behind everything. A huge thank you to Abdullah and to the entire Milaidhoo team for making us feel so welcomed, cared for and truly special. Your hospitality exceeded our expectations, and the attention to detail was outstanding. 10 out of 10 without hesitation. Milaidhoo gave us not just a beautiful holiday, but beautiful memories that we will carry with us. We would absolutely love to come back one day. ❤️
We had a wonderful stay at Milaidhoo, and a huge part of that was thanks to our island host, Abdulla. He was warm, professional, attentive, and always responded quickly whenever we needed anything. From arranging our transfers and activities to helping with all the small requests during our stay, everything was handled efficiently and thoughtfully.
Abdulla always checked that we were comfortable without ever making us feel disturbed. His genuine care and excellent service made our holiday relaxing, smooth, and truly memorable. We felt very well looked after from arrival to departure.
Words cannot express the level of emotion we feel about our wonderful stay at this hidden gem Milaidhoo, everything here is truly exceptional ! We did not want to leave, and will definitely look forward to returning again ! Most importantly we feel that it is not just the UNESCO protected natural beauty of this paradise island, it is the extra special hospitality that is absolutely outstanding, and left us feeling very attached to the Milaidhoo "family", because ALL the staff are genuinely amazing and beautiful spirited people. An extra special huge thank you to Pankaj, Pricilla, Paul, Muray, Envinda, Ken, Celine and their team, too many special people to mention personally !! They have left us with the best everlasting memories and we feel they are now our friends forever, which is surprising to us! They made us feel ever so special and totally cared for in every way, they go above and beyond in everything they do, it comes natural to them, we felt very connected to them. This magical island is made up of their wonderful genuine, welcoming, friendly, caring, attentive, beautiful spirits and big hearts, which is so rare to find or experience elsewhere. The choice of multi cultural food for everyone, restaurants, activities - including Snorkeling with their in-house Marine Biologist Nairika, the fantastic luxury Spa and choice of treatments, massages, trips off the island... The stunning beach villa we stayed in was on the beach, and we also had our own private pool. Everything is so professionally organised quietly in the background, to ensure that we never had to ask or worry about anything at all, they think of every little personal detail to make guests feel relaxed and looked after in every way. It feels like paradise, more so than the other Maldivian islands due to their unique natural ambience, peacefulness, privacy, it is also so romantic! We have left this particular island feeling immense gratitude and we have the best memories, it was the perfect place to wind down and relax in the best possible way. We want to again send a HUGE thank you to everyone at Milaido again, and hope to see them again soon❤️❤️
We have just returned from Milaidhoo Maldives, and it is honestly difficult to describe how special this experience was for us.
The island itself is absolutely beautiful: peaceful, intimate, lush and incredibly well cared for. The beach is wonderful, and most of the time you have the feeling of being almost alone in paradise. The house reef is also magnificent — full of life, beautiful to explore, and, from what we could see, in remarkable health. There is a wonderful feeling of nature, calm and wellbeing throughout the island.
The food was delicious and varied throughout our stay. We especially loved the curries, which were consistently excellent, full of flavour and beautifully prepared. Breakfast was always a joy, and the service in every restaurant was outstanding.
But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the service.
Every single person we met at breakfast, in the restaurants, on the beach and around the island was kind, attentive and genuinely warm. We never felt rushed, ignored or unattended. There was always a smile, always someone ready to help, and always the feeling that the team truly cared. They are extraordinary ambassadors not only for Milaidhoo, but also for the Maldives as a destination.
And then there was Roxy, our island host.
Roxy was, without exaggeration, one of the most exceptional hospitality professionals we have ever met. Intelligent, elegant, kind, discreet, warm and incredibly efficient, she anticipated our needs throughout the stay and always made us feel understood and looked after. She handled every request with grace, patience and genuine care. Her mindset felt truly international, and her professionalism was simply extraordinary.
Meeting her was one of the great joys of our trip. She made us feel deeply cared for, and thanks to her, Milaidhoo became one of the most beautiful travel experiences of our lives.
Everything at the resort seemed to work with impressive precision, yet without ever feeling cold or mechanical. Activities, restaurant reservations, transfers and daily arrangements were handled smoothly and thoughtfully. The whole experience felt effortless, which is perhaps one of the greatest luxuries.
I am probably more demanding than the average guest, and yet I truly struggle to find anything negative to say about Milaidhoo. It is a rare place: intimate, elegant, natural, beautifully run and full of heart.
We left with enormous gratitude and with the feeling that we had experienced something truly special. Thank you to the entire Milaidhoo team, and especially to Roxy, for making our stay unforgettable.
