I would like to take a little time out to just pop a review on here, wow what an amazing beautiful island not just as in the island but the staff and how welcomed we felt myself and my mum came here it was my first time leaving my children at home with there dad they are ages 12 and 10 despite missing my children I felt so settled and welcomed here the staff were lovely and polite. One of the men who drove the little shuffles every time we got on he asked how our day had been always. Very very chatty & lovely. The life guard was amazing to answering questions I was asking always again polite and pleasant, A certain lady in the dhoaraa bar also couldn’t do more for us she was welcoming and so polite chatty & always smiling. The bar man also polite & knew the drink we wanted and added and mixed drinks we asked for, we asked for a cherry and he gave us just that! A BIG shout out to Shina who greeted us at the airport on arrival who made us instantly feel welcomed into the Maldives & made our first impression of our holiday great; she also welcomed us again on departure and she just genuinely was and is a lovely lovely woman, she was chatting about the Maldives about life answering questions I asked she was a giggle & very very helpful. Thanks all for an amazing stay! You all made it a holiday to remember and the Maldives canareef will hold a special place in my heart!
This was our second year coming to Canareef, and once again my wife and I had a brilliant stay.
We stayed for three weeks, and people often ask us whether that feels too long on one island. For us, not at all. There is so much to do between snorkelling, the different reef routes, the water sports centre, tennis, the gym, the game room and the other activities around the island. You can also visit the nearby village, so the days never really start to feel repetitive.
The reefs were one of the main reasons we came back. The corals were beautiful and there was always plenty of marine life to see. Manjula at Beach Bar made that even better, often calling us over when he spotted a turtle and showing us different reefs and marine life around the area. He really added something to our days there.
The food was excellent throughout the stay, and we also really enjoyed the Maldivian Nights, which were a lovely new addition and genuinely interesting to watch.
A big thank you to Sher and his team for looking after us so well. What we appreciated most was the attention to detail. It is nice to have someone making sure that everything is as you would like it and that the stay actually lives up to your expectations, rather than simply assuming everything is fine.
We would also definitely recommend the private sunset dinner. It was one of the most memorable evenings of the trip and absolutely worth doing.
After two visits, Canareef has become one of those places we are genuinely happy to return to. We would very happily come back for a third time.
Well worth the long journey to get there. An additional flight from Male of just over an hour but what an amazing experience. The resort is stunning, a 4km long Island, only 50m wide for large parts with lagoon on one side and the ocean on the other. The welcome was wonderful with music and drink, a quick registration and then to the room. There is electric buggies to get you to the numerous beaches or bars or free bikes are available for your villa to get about. As a family of 5, we used both the bikes and buggies. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful and after a few days, know your preferred drinks and locations. The beach bar is beautiful with amazing snorkelling off the far end of the island. Your drink requirements are looked after by Sonia and Widia who are so friendly and helpful. The restaurant with its sandy floors has numerous helpful staff, Michael, Nyan, Htin as well as others and the food is fresh and beautifully prepared. Amazing choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The evening entertainment was organised by Didi who looked after our family so well. It was great to catch up with every evening as well as join him on the snorkelling trip. he also gave us advice on where to go when we visited the local island on our bikes. Such an amazing resort which we will remember for a long time. Big shout out to Didi, we all miss you!
We had a wonderful stay at Canareef Resort Maldives. Although it was only for one night, we really enjoyed our time there. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was lovely to be back again, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality and excellent service. We are already looking forward to visiting again next year, hopefully for a longer stay with our family. I would definitely recommend Canareef to others. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable! 🌴😊
We had a fantastic stay at Canareef, everything was looked after so well from the minute we landed at Male - we were greeted by a representative who guided us through the airport to the connecting flight to the guys driving the boat across the lagoon to the resort. Particularly thanks to the catering team, who could not have been more attentive and helpful with my Coeliac daughter, the quality of the food, the attentive service and the number of gluten free options was excellent. Room service were particularly good, Ahmed was such an asset, always cheerful and super-friendly - came and swept the sand from our rooms twice a day. Also the guys at the Dive Centre were brilliant, thanks Charley. A super memorable holiday and we would love to come back!
