We liked it!! Since its located in the heart of Kaleiçi, some noise must be expected. But it was no way near as bad as we had expected.
Breakfast was really nice and lots of choices.
The room was spacoius, but very dark. (We stayed at the building called Fiore garden) It was impossible to put on make-up in this room becsuse of the lighting. There wasn't much storage space or even a hook for the towels. But these things were minor to us. We really liked the location and the antique feeling.
I have to mention Burak!! This guy was beyond helpful and smiling. Hotel Alp Paşa, give this guy a raise!!
The hotel is in a great location, centre of the great old town surrounded by bars and restaurants, a few mins walk to the sea front, but the good points end there!
It’s old, it’s shabby, it needs a refurb. Our room wasn’t really dirty and the bed was clean, but the decor is tired and broken and everything is just poorly maintained, bodged, it doesn’t look nice. In our room, one day the spare key went missing, probably taken by cleaners we were told.. another day the tv remote battery cover went missing.. the light fitting in the room wasn’t attached to the ceiling, bits of wallpaper have been stuck over other wall paper probably to hide something.. the shower caused a leak, below the sink! The aircon is either on or off, so it’s cold blowing on the bed. I had to keep switching it on and off to maintain a good temp. I found the bed and pillows extremely uncomfortable, but that’s subjective. We had no WiFi for a few days, and when it worked it was slow, I had to buy a phone top-up to use data in Turkey, recommend you do that before you leave as there was no free or easy to connect wi-fi in Antalya airport.
The staff were generally good with us, not issues with reception anyway.
Breakfast - this was a bit of a shambles, difficult to find a table at busiest times (the hour before end of breakfast) missing cups and cutlery, staff running around but not much happening, and it closed down immediately at end time, coffee machines off (although probably they had stopped working by then anyway) food cleared, gone.
The biggest issue was getting a coffee, two machines isn’t enough, especially as they spent more time waiting to be topped up, emptied or cleaned than actually dispensing coffee. The breakfast food was ok but inconsistent, we got what we could but ventured out for a decent coffee. A morning treat was a game of guess the surgery, the hotel had a few battered and bruised guests, it’s used by customers of the Turkey teeth/hair/nose clinics, nothing wrong with that, it was funny seeing someone looking normal one day, and the next with black eyes wearing a face mask 😷.
They have a bar and restaurant opposite, which can bring food and drinks to the courtyard in the hotel, where they had live music on some nights, but really there is plenty to try in the town, and lots of venues with live music, if you walk around a bit you can find a beer for half the price of most bars, just a couple of streets off the main drag (like 140 lira instead of 250).. always pay in lira by the way, if they ask for euros, say no, you will be paying more.
On checkout day, our flight was late in the evening and they were unable to extend our checkout time, it was fully booked (so they are doing something right). I found a hotel a few doors down (on lastminute) for £28 a night, and we used that to chill and have a shower before we left.
Having seen what else as available in Antalya (which is a great place to visit and as a base to take trips) you get what you pay for, Alp Pasa is cheap, next time I would pay double for a nice hotel, of which there are plenty (if you are prepared to pay more).
Location is amazing but rooms are very dirty hygiene is zero we got our room with a dirty pillows (unchanged) and dirty towels 1st day we checked in we got issues in the bath tub never changed the room and with every shower we got a flood in the whole toilet Receptionist is very rude and unprofessional They did customer service recovery by offering fruits and sweets but never got a satisfied hygiene level. Very noisy rooms you cannot have a proper sleep I dont recommend this hotel at allllll
This hotel is not boutique and is not 4 Star. The room was a good size, but very little storage space. Housekeeping was not very good. The towels and linen were changed regularly although the towels were paper thin, however the floor was not washed once in 10 days, the sink was not washed. We had four cockroaches. The shower flooded the room in the second day. Maintenance did sort it out quickly. No WiFi in the rooms or anywhere else apart from the reception area. Breakfast room is far too small for the number of people. The hotel is far too big to be boutique. Never managed to get a sun bed. Very noisy. The reception staff were nice and that is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. The hotel is really no more than 3 stars and that is being generous. Very disappointing !!!
Worst hotel experience ever . Arrived late at night to be given a room I didn’t book and was too small for our family . To add , everything was very dirty filled with hair , dirt and stains everywhere, we even found a used tissue ! We asked the reception to be given the room we actually payed for but we were told to come back in the morning. Fast forward to the next day , we were given our room at approximately 2PM . The new room was even dirtier than the first one . The bathrooms had old guests stuff , mud prints on the ground , used toilet paper and some poop residue on the toilets . We asked if our bathrooms could be cleaned and were told to wait a couple of minutes but it’s been over 2hours and we were told to wait a couple more minutes . This hotel was very disappointing to say the least , the location was perfect but the hotel itself wasn’t good. If your thinking about going there or taking your family with you , think again and save yourself .
