This luxurious hotel, built in neoclassical and traditional Cycladic architectural styles, is located beside the famous black sand beach of Perissa and offers its guests magnificent views over the sea and the mountain range, creating an amazing secluded atmosphere. The hotel offers guests magnificent facilities and excellent service to ensure a perfect stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Two nights in a row, we had the pleasure of spending time with Nick and Elsa at the open air hotel bar, starting at 'Beer O-clock,' with their large tap brew (Mythos) for the happiest hour between 8 and 9PM! Nick and Elsa create such a fun, welcoming environment and made it feel like we were spending our night hanging out with our best friends! From the cocktails crafted specifically for us on the spot, to tutoring us on our Greek, we have had such a great time and will keep dropping in until the end of our trip! Come down and check them out!
We just got back from Veggera Hotel in Perissa, and if you take one thing from this review, let it be this: ask for Elsa.
She’s the F&B manager there, and honestly we think she’s one of the reasons the whole place works. From day one she just looked after us properly, sorted out whatever we needed, and made sure we are having a great time. She gave us excellent recommendations, even arranged us a very nice table at the sunset, on the other side of the island!
Nick was a big part of why we kept going back, funny, easy to talk to, actually interested in a conversation rather than just pouring a drink and moving to the next order. We ended up there most nights just to talk to him, and the drinks were properly good, better than most hotel bars manage.
Then there’s the rest of Elsa’s team, and it really does feel like her team. Maria on the floor kept checking in on us, and you could tell she actually meant it. Lydia (sorry if I’ve got the spelling wrong) was so helpful, knew our regular orders before we’d even asked, always with a huge smile. Pablo was the same, an absolute gentleman who remembered even the smallest requests from one day to the next. One of the days we had Rildi in the bar and we want to mention him too, total professional, great drinks, great service.
Apart from that a special thanks for Yannis(John). He checked in on us every day to make sure everything was right, always warm about it, always a gentleman, super kind.
The room gave us zero to complain about. Room was very clean, and serviced everyday, AC worked like clockwork the whole stay, shower had good pressure and no issues, and the balcony was a lovely spot to sit with a coffee in the morning. Wifi was fast and reliable too.
We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and it’s rare to feel actually looked after rather than just served. Veggera did that, and it’s down to Elsa and the team around her. If we come back to Perissa, it’ll be for her.
So if you are reading this review before you book Veggera, don’t hesitate, go find Elsa at the bar and say hi, you’ll understand what we are talking about.
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Veggera Hotel. From arrival to departure, we received the best customer service of our lives. John was top notch, a total gem. He helped carry all of our luggage to our room when we checked in (and we had a LOT of luggage) and did it with a smile!
Our room was a bit of a tight fit, but we knew that when we booked it. We didn't spend enough time in our rooms for it to matter anyway. However, our first night, the air conditioner wasn't working. We woke up sweating through our sheets. We talked to John the next morning and he came to adjust it. However, when we returned later that afternoon, it still was not working. We talked to John again and he switched us to another room. He came to our room and helped carry all of our luggage (again) to the next room (upstairs as well). Again, with a smile and just so courteous. The next room was much more spacious (and likely more expensive), but we had no other issues with the AC.
The hotel itself is gorgeous, the pools are fabulous, and it is just steps away from the beach. There are many places to eat and a variety of shops along the road and we had an amazing time just walking around the area. We did rent a car and there was free parking in a public lot behind the hotel (we never had an issue finding parking there). It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the hotel (if you have luggage to carry). They block off the road in front of the hotel during certain hours (evening hours, but not entirely sure of the exact times), but if you get there early enough, you would be able to drive right up to the front of the hotel to unload luggage.
We had been trying to make a reservation at a restaurant in Corfu (our next destination after Santorini) and hadn't had any luck getting through. We talked to John at the front desk to see if he could help. And he went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make it happen. He tried calling the restaurant, but also couldn't get through. He then looked them up, found a "sister business" and called them to see about a reservation. He couldn't get through to them either, so he looked up the address and called the business next door. That's when he found out that they were closed for that day. He then e-mailed them to request a reservation for our large party (19 of us). He was off the next day, but said that he would be calling them as soon as they opened the next day to follow-up on the reservation. He then gave us his personal number and said that he would reach out ON HIS DAY OFF to confirm our reservation. He got confirmation of our reservation later that day (which I was so glad because I didn't want him to work on his day off). Santorini was our first stop on our vacation in Greece and he genuinely set the tone for an amazing time. He was so personable, professional, customer-focused, and just amazing, all the way around. It was impressive for being so young (he was 23), that John had such incredible work ethic, customer service skills, and an incredible personality. I would absolutely stay here again, as long as John is there!! Veggera Hotel is blessed to have John as the "face" of their business, working at the front desk. He made the already impressive hotel that much more amazing.
A special thanks goes to John for everything, what a lovely person! It has been amazing from the start to finish.The hotel is quiet and in amazing location. The whole area was just perfect and it has been one of the most wonderful holidays.

From the moment we arrived, my mother and I felt welcomed with kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. The reception staff were always smiling, helpful, and ready to assist with any request. Every question was answered quickly and with great care.

I would also like to thank the lovely lady who accompanied us on the 13-hour excursion. She was incredibly kind, positive, knowledgeable, and always smiling. She made the experience even more memorable.
A special thank you as well to the gentleman who gave massages to both my mother and me. He was fantastic, highly professional, skilled, friendly, and made us feel completely relaxed and comfortable. It was one of the highlights of our holiday.
The taxi drivers were also extremely kind and helpful, explaining many things about the island and giving us excellent recommendations on places to visit.
The beach in front of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The famous black sand is unique and fascinating, and the sea is wonderful. One thing we really appreciated was that the sunbeds were included, allowing us to simply relax, enjoy the view, and fully experience the peaceful atmosphere.
The hotel has a beautiful, simple, authentic Greek style that creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was clean, pleasant, and well organized.
I would also like to thank the bar and kitchen staff. They work incredibly hard, especially in the summer heat, and their dedication deserves great respect. The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal was a pleasure.
Santorini is a magical island with its own unique charm, just like the people who live there. I love Greece, and I have always found Greek people to be warm, welcoming, and genuine. There is a special positive energy on this island that makes you feel at home.
Thank you to everyone who works at Veggera Hotel. You helped create wonderful memories for my mother and me, and we truly appreciate everything you did.
I cannot wait to return. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini.
