We arrived to a beautiful reception and we thought wow this is gonna be plush! WRONG!! This is definitely NOT a 5* hotel infact more like a 2*! Our room was disgustingly tired, worn, basic and unsafe! Socket plates hanging off the wall with wires exposed, bathroom was dirty, dated and in desperate need of a refurbished along with the bedroom! No where to put clothes only limited hanging space, safe doesn’t work, every piece of furniture damaged and tired and dated. No a-la-Carte restaurants open, and bars limited too with drinks being weak. One bar we were told we couldn’t drink in even though we were all inclusive! . Husband went to use the inclusive gym was told he had to pay €7 per visit. Sunbeds by the pool unsafe falling apart with the wheels very wobbily, old wooden rickety sunbeds. Guests drinking out of glasses by pool with constant breakages! Cant recommend the food as only ate a couple of times which was enough to put us off!!!
Svetlana and Petros from the bar were amazing and gave us a good experience and the drinks were professionally made .. thank you guys
We stayed at Rodos Palace from 11th–17th September 2026 on what we had booked as a six-night all-inclusive holiday for two, including a double/twin room with a pool/garden view. Unfortunately, the holiday was extremely disappointing and fell well below what we had paid for. The problems started the moment we arrived and continued throughout our stay.
The wrong room and a filthy arrival…
We arrived at around 11pm after travelling from London Gatwick and were taken by buggy to a bungalow-style room away from the main hotel. The room key didn't work, and once inside we immediately realised the accommodation was not what we had booked.
The floor was visibly filthy — our feet turned black when walking barefoot. There was significant mould in the bathroom, the bedsheet didn't fit properly and the fridge was dirty. There was also only one bottle of water for two people after a long journey and late-night arrival. We returned to reception to complain but were told that nothing could really be done until the following morning.
The hotel had our booking completely wrong…
The following morning, we discovered something even more concerning. The hotel's own system showed our booking as BED & BREAKFAST in an executive room with garden view, rather than the ALL-INCLUSIVE package we had booked. We were shown hotel documentation confirming this.
After contacting loveholidays and the hotel checking the booking, they agreed to move us. However, rather than moving us into the correct accommodation, we were moved into essentially the same bungalow-style accommodation, only even further away from the main building.
After further complaints to Guest Relations and the room manager, we were moved again. In total, we were allocated THREE different rooms.
Eventually we were placed inside the main hotel, but even this room did not have the pool/garden view we had booked. By this point, we had spent a substantial part of our first day going backwards and forwards between reception, Guest Relations, the room manager and loveholidays rather than enjoying our holiday.
The final room still had serious problems…
After being moved three times, you would expect the final room to be acceptable. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
We found a filthy mattress underneath the bed, dirty/stained lampshades, a broken lamp with exposed wiring, a dirty fridge and a metal fixture protruding from the side of the sink. Most importantly, the air-conditioning unit was so dusty and smelled so badly that we could not use it for the entire stay. We had to leave the doors open to try to keep the room bearable, which resulted in us being covered in mosquito bites.
The communal areas were also disappointing, with heavily stained carpets and an unpleasant smell throughout the floor. We later realised we had been placed in an older part of the hotel that appeared to have received considerably less attention following refurbishment.
The "all-inclusive" package was extremely confusing…
Nobody properly explained at check-in what our all-inclusive package actually included. We were told the hotel had run out of all-inclusive wristbands, so we had to repeatedly give our room number whenever ordering food or drinks. On several occasions, the system showed our room as empty, meaning we had to return to reception to sort it out. This was particularly frustrating given that the hotel had already incorrectly recorded our booking as bed and breakfast.
There were also repeated problems getting drinks. On occasions we were told beer was "finished", and beer was sometimes served in wine glasses! We were also told that tonic with gin had to be paid for separately. Despite paying for an all-inclusive holiday, cocktails weren't included either.
The biggest issue was the lack of clear information. We were not properly told what was included when we arrived. Instead, we only discovered the details by finding a dusty, old information booklet in the room. I have attached a photograph of this booklet so prospective guests can see the information we were given.
Food and illness…
Food was another major concern. Following the problems we had already experienced, Guest Relations offered us a complimentary dinner. We both ate the mackerel starter and subsequently became extremely unwell with vomiting and diarrhoea. We went to the pharmacy next to the hotel for treatment and encountered other hotel guests who were also reporting similar symptoms.
I don't want to claim that the hotel food definitely caused our illness, as that would require proper investigation. However, given the timing, the fact that both of us became ill after eating the same meal, and what we heard from other guests, we completely lost confidence in eating at the hotel and ate elsewhere for the remainder of our holiday.
The dining experience was also disappointing generally. The food was repetitive, the restaurant was extremely busy and we regularly had to wait for seating and drinks.
The biggest disappointment…
The biggest problem wasn't one isolated issue — it was the cumulative effect of problem after problem throughout a six-night holiday. We had the wrong accommodation, cleanliness problems, mould, maintenance issues, exposed wiring, unusable air conditioning, mosquito problems, incorrect booking information, three room moves, confusion over the all-inclusive package, problems accessing food and drinks, and serious concerns about the food.
We spent a significant amount of our holiday dealing with problems instead of enjoying it.
We have photographs and hotel documentation supporting many of the issues described above, including documentation showing that the hotel's records had our booking as bed and breakfast rather than all-inclusive.
We have raised a formal complaint with loveholidays and are awaiting their response.
Overall, this was NOT the six-night all-inclusive holiday we believed we had booked.
We paid for a relaxing all-inclusive holiday and instead spent much of our first day trying to resolve problems, were moved between three rooms, and ultimately had serious concerns about the accommodation, cleanliness, all-inclusive package and food.
Based on our experience, prospective guests should carefully check exactly what room, view and all-inclusive package they are being sold before booking.
The staff here was not helpful at all. Breakfast was a bad experience—much of the food was served cold, and I even saw bugs crawling over some of the hot dishes. On top of that, the housekeeper took a bag directly from our room. The evening entertainment was mediocre at best. I cannot recommend this hotel due to the poor service, safety concerns, and lack of cleanliness.
Drinks in the Pedro Bar is always a big party
