3 night stop over on an island trip Great location for the resort Nice friendly staff Good price for the standard of accommodation Only got half my towels changed on the 2 day rota for some reason which wasn't ideal as I soaked them when the shower head changed direction onto them while I was getting undressed . Breakfast okay but didn't seem enough tables for the guests at peak times. Hot food luke warm which isn't unique to this hotel . Would stay again
On the last day I just left/forgot to take my bag with my wallet from room to have breakfast just for 30min. and roomcleaner take 70 Eur from my wallet. Wallet had 220 Eur (50 + 50 + 50 +50 and 20 Eur) and roomcleaner take 70 Eur: 50 + 20 and thought that maybe hotel client do not realize that. Reception was useless on such case and do not gave me the number of hotel director or manager and do not let me talk to roomcleaner. Police only recommended possibility to go on the court with such person. Overall I will not recommend this hotel at all. Terrible if your room was checked everyday and only on the one day 30 min.was enough time to steal your money. On other days, successfully, my bag with wallet was with me out of the room. Overall - choose other hotels, people. The roomcleaner was not fired too.
The hotel is in a quiet location, just off the main road, so there's no noise at night time from bars etc.
All the staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful. When I first arrived, it was quite late and had an issue with the air-conditioning not working. I went across to the reception, and someone came over to fix it right away! They had also saved me some light salad/ cheeses/ meats as it was past the dinner time, which I thought was really nice.
Special shout outs to Genti the barman, who was really funny; friendly and helpful, Elli and Yannis at reception, and the waiting staff at breakfast and dinner all lovely, friendly and helpful as I was travelling solo. They are all there to answer any questions you may have. The bar prices are really reasonable, €3.50 (£3.06) for a glass of local wine!
The breakfast and dinner were also good, plenty of variety. But I am not a fussy eater, so there was always something I could eat.
Pool area is very quiet and doesnt really get much sun in the day time until later, I only spent my first day around the pool and was alone most of the time, the rest of the time I went to the beach or excursions. There is also a book shelf to borrow a book to read whilst on holiday.
My room was across in the Annex building, but was perfectly clean for a 3* hotel. There is a small fridge which was a little noisy but that's to be expected. And the balcony faced the street but again, not much noise on a night time.
It does mention that towels are only cleaned once every 2 days, but in a 7 day-stay, I think my bedding was only changed twice, so the cleaning schedule is a bit sporadic. This was my only issue.
There are plenty of supermarkets, pharmacies, and public transport nearby.
Nearby one of my favourites to visit was Mare Mio beach and resto, €10 for a sunbed for the day and the food was lovely. I can also recommend a visit to Knossos Palace and Heraklion and Spinolonga island with Elounda and Agios Nikolas.
Thanks for a great stay! You made a solo traveller feel very welcome :)
Where to start, rock hard mattresses, rusty old fridge which rattled all the time, tired old furniture, absolutely useless hairdryer, evening meal had poor choice same food nearly every night. Two stars are for the staff and location, wouldn't stay again very disappointed!
Good location, pool unsuitable for children as steep slippy slope, didnt see many people use pool so no issues with sunbeds. Very quiet during day. Room small basic and dated no bin/ hairdryer in annex room, looked out on street. Rooms in main hotel were a bit more updated. Ate out most of the time, food was ok at hotel but had better. Staff were ok but reserved. If keeping room on then required to pay 60% full room rate and extra if require evening meal.
