This family run hotel is located at the end of Malia beach road, in the old town. It is 30 km east from Heraklion and the capital city is approximately 30 m by car. Stalis and Hersonisos are within walking distance too. Guests will enjoy a lively and active atmosphere full of bars and restaurants. It is the perfect place for young couples and groups of friends who wish to enjoy an intense holiday experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The best hotel in Malia!! The staff absolutely make this place. All staff are incredible, so friendly and helpful! This is our second time coming because we love it so much here, and we will definitely be back!
A group of 5 stayed at the hotel this month on a lads holiday, we came to Malia last year and stayed at another local hotel so were aware of the extra charges etc etc and obviously saw this on the description anyway so had no issue. We got WiFi, tourist tax and air con for two rooms which cost 60 euros this included the bbq. This was a lot cheaper than the other hotel last year who wanted 60 just for air con! Although the air con in one room was a lot cooler then the other.
The owner and his son were nice and helpful when we arrived, the owner had a good laugh with us and said if we respect him and his family they will respect us. We were able to drink on the balcony until 11pm which we did think was a little early but also respect that we aren’t the only guests here! However, the music at the bar played past 11. I’ve seen some reviews about the security entering rooms. We never had this issue once. The security guard also knew our spot for the key as we put them both in a little cupboard. He had no issue with this at all and we had nothing missing throughout the stay.
The food at the bar was nice and the staff were lovely, they could have a laugh with us. Location is spot on, not far from the strip or old town. The bbq was a nice night and we enjoyed the dancing and plate smashing.
The pool was a little small and can get crowded, for this reason it’s why I imagine they don’t allow ball games in the pool, no jumping on or being daft. I think that’s fair enough as it could probably get dangerous. The bloke that enforced these rules was funny but very stern😂. Some lads from another hotel came in and started bombing in the pool and soaking everyone. The owner went and got them when they ran off and made them apologise to everyone around the pool! Quite funny.
One of the only negatives we found was how loud the music is around the pool. Also understand this is a lively hotel but trust me when you’ve been out 5 nights in a row and are rough it goes straight through you! I forgot what the sound of silence was by the end.
Rooms were basic but had everything we needed and were very similar to the hotel last year too! For what we paid they’re spot on. Cleaners did a good job which isn’t easy when you’ve got messy lads.
Overall, for a lads holiday it was good (don’t expect the ritz) I think a lot of reviews on here are likely harsh but everyone has different experiences.
Decent hotel, kinda clean but if you’re planning on having some fun in the pool. You can’t, no ball games, no jumping in. No messing about in the pool either. You will get pulled up and asked to stay out the pool. Puts a damper on the holiday when you can’t have fun in the pool
We have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, what a wonderful family run hotel in a great location with lovely staff - special mentions for Panos, Joanna, Joseph, Medi, Andreas, Katerina, Maria, Alexandra and Eleni. These guys are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble, we were made to feel so welcome. The hotel is clean, the drinks well priced and the food is all tasty - particularly the stifado. Excellent value for money. The Greek night was incredible. So much fun. Greek dancing, plate smashing and such a feast! We honestly couldn’t have asked for more! Bravo!!
We came back to Aegean Sky for another 10 nights this year after having such a brilliant time last year, and once again it’s been amazing from start to finish! The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have everything you need, the pool is always the perfect temperature and there are plenty of comfy sunbeds around it. The location is also ideal for enjoying everything Malia has to offer.
What really makes Aegean Sky special though is the people. The staff genuinely treat you like part of the family and always make time to have a chat and a laugh with you. Panos, the owner, is an absolute legend and invites guests to join him for the hotel’s Greek night, which is something you definitely shouldn’t miss. The food is incredible and it’s easily one of our favourite nights of the holiday.
There are honestly too many members of staff to mention individually, so I’ll just say a massive thank you to the whole team. They’re the reason this hotel has such a great atmosphere and why we wanted to come back again this year. After another brilliant 10 nights, we’re already sad to be leaving. If you’re looking for somewhere friendly, comfortable and welcoming in Malia, I couldn’t recommend Aegean Sky enough. Hopefully we’ll be back again!🇬🇷
