Never has a teaspoon been a hotter commodity than in our one week stay at EM, having to ask at each meal sitting for them became a bit tedious but it kind of summed up our stay there, there unfortunately were many things off the mark. Before, I do reach further into negatives, I would say there were a few staff members that earnt the few points I would score for this hotel, Leo and Marie on entertainment and the new trainee on reception (who helped track down some lost property) deserve some praise. The swim up rooms I hadn’t seen before, and I can see they maybe for some people, even though not fully private.

So, the rest, we didn’t get allocated a great room (we overlooked the road and the restaurant roof) meaning the balcony wasn’t used and when asking if there was a possibility of changing we were flogged off. The shower water entered into the rest of the bathroom after each wash and the A/C didn’t work properly. There was also a smell as we entered the room which was coming from the drains outside.

The restaurant only had a small indoor area, but that was in high demand because of the wasps outside – you simply could not eat there. Then, the food, a valiant attempt by theming each nights buffet was offset by the blandness and lack of quality of the food, out of 5 dinners there I only enjoyed one, where for once the chicken was cooked properly. The desserts were pretty much the same every night and no ice cream. The breakfast was even worse, just the same every day, I actually lost weight this holiday!

Kavos, to mention, is about 90 minutes from the airport and Corfu Town, it has a small strip of restaurants and night life, which we ventured out to a few times. There are plenty of tour operators in the area to keep you busy during your stay, the private beach is OK, it is sandy but with a few stones.

Overall, It isn’t a place id imagine coming back to, some of the downside could have been dealt with better, they need a solution for the wasps and well being short on teaspoons to stir your tea or have dessert was simply bizarre

It was a very big disappointment to spend a 1-week vacation here for the first time as a family with two children. This is like party town. The first day we arrived everything seemed fine. The room was cleaned but incompletely prepared. On the first day, we turned on the air conditioning because of the extreme heat, which almost immediately started dripping onto the wooden staircase, which became very slippery, so we turned it off.I reported the problem to the reception where we were promised a repair. This happened the next day, but we were told not to use it for a few hours. This happened and after we turned it on a few hours later, almost immediately a puddle of water formed in the upper room and on the stairs again. We realized that the TV wasn't working either, and we reported this to the reception. At first they said the remote control was bad, they replaced it but it didn't work either. I asked for new batteries, but that didn't work either. I handed the remote control over to the reception and then the promisings about the air conditioner and TV started. I asking the room change, but every single time they saying different reasons why not. Nobody handling the problems. Very hot nights with no A/C and no tv with kids, but lot of promising.... In the remaining 2-3 days, I did not ask questions at the reception, they did not even pay attention to us, they practically ignored the problems we had repeatedly reported. This is how everything should be done for the sake and comfort of the guest, for whom they paid serious money.👏👏👏 Unfortunately, during our days we also encountered flea bites acquired at night. The toilet flusher is also faulty. The water doesn't stop after flushing and it's very loud. The maintenance guy came, looked at it and said it needed to be pushed. That fixed it. Every morning behind the building , the HK stuff eating breakfast, smokes cigaretts and leave dirt in the back. (Coffe drops and bread peaces around) The stuff very kind and in the restaurant everibody was very helpful. The reception and the manager a bit conceited and condescending. Walking past us in the morning, she can't even say hello to a high-ranking manager. To summarize, I would say that it is noticeable that they are trying to squeeze as much money out of people as possible in every way, but if there is a problem to be solved, they try to avoid it. On top of that, on last day my child accidentally slipped into the pool and was laughed at by a few guests along with a few members of staff....nothing to add to that. You can have this week for 3600EUR.

If you haven't booked yet, then simply don't.

We recently stayed here as a family for a week (TUI package holiday) when we first arrived our room had a number of issues so we asked to be moved. Thankfully, the staff were very accommodating and we were moved swiftly the following morning to much more acceptable room.

The food was not to our liking, very basic and bland so we bought breakfast items from the nearby Lidl and ate out in the evenings. There was also a wasp problem, almost impossible to eat in the outdoor portion of the restaurant and the indoor was also affected. Appreciate it’s summer and very hot but feel measures could be implemented to at least reduce the problem so guests could eat their meals.

The pool area was pleasant, as was the nearby private beach owned by the hotel. Sadly, the immediate area is very run down and in my opinion not at all suitable for families with younger children. We hired a car from across the road so we could drive out and find activities. Corfu old town was lovely, with plenty of shops and lovely restaurants.

Due to the issues we had on arrival, we were given a complimentary late check-out which we were very grateful for due to the extreme heat. The TUI rep at the hotel was also very helpful in dealing with our concerns, ensuring the issues were resolved promptly. Lovely guy and very professional.

In summary, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for a family holiday, largely due to the location. Corfu old town is much nicer and only a short distance from the airport.
