Just got back after enjoying two great weeks at St Peters Bay. Location is great and the apartments are stunning - we had a slight issue with wifi but staff were attentive and ensured that was sorted and much as I was nervous about the building work happening in some of the apartments it wasnt a problem. What I really liked about this resort was the pool and bar area - Jimmy and his Team were superb, warm and welcoming. Food and drink really good quality and it really makes a difference having this type of facility on site. Sea Shed is around a 15 minute walk away, there is a garage with a shop 10 mins away and for a truly authentic bajan meal pop over an see Shane at Grandines which is 2 mins away. It was also nice to speak to some of the owners - who were really engaging. I very much believe we will be back ! - Room wise we had a 3 bed with a roof terrace - now 100% sure we needed the roof terrace to be honest so if/when we come back we might just get a 3 bed. Beach is split into 3 - two quite rocky - one very sandy and lovely - managed to both see a turtle during the day and come across lots of baby ones hatching on a night as well !
This is not a resort, nor is it lux. It is a condo. No one verified our identity or checked us in. The air conditioning and two showers had to be fixed in our condo. The concierge is not a true concierge. Overall, this is FALSE ADVERTISING. Do not stay here if you are looking for a luxury resort in Barbados.
We stayed this trip for seven nights in a one bedroom suite-#305-and did notice a few changes. Apparently the resort allows owners to use various booking agents thereby limiting guests to less than full rental availability. Last year we enjoyed the balcony hot tub but this was not accessible to us. Also for some odd reason they limit beach towels and toiletries—even with washer/dryer in the unit and every other day housekeeping. The Flow tv package is okay but it excludes many live TV channels from either the USA or Europe—such as FOX News, CBS, NBC etc. The Gazebo restaurant is now totally separate from the resort which requires daily payment and also eliminated any complimentary continental breakfast offer. Our one in unit AC unit also developed a water leak which stained the rug and it was put out on the balcony until we checked out. We were surprised noone offered any adjustment for this inconvenience. On the plus side all employees were friendly and helpful.
We were very much looking forward to our upcoming stay at Saint Peter’s Bay in Barbados. Unfortunately, just weeks before our trip, my partner experienced an unexpected medical issue and has been advised that he is unable to fly for several weeks. This was completely unforeseen and entirely out of our control. We contacted the hotel immediately, explained the circumstances, and offered to provide medical documentation. We were not asking for a refund without cause — only the opportunity to reschedule our stay for a later date once he is medically cleared to travel. The total charge for this reservation is over $15,000, which makes the hotel’s complete refusal to offer any flexibility especially difficult to understand. Despite providing context and offering proof of a legitimate health issue, we were told there would be no refund, no credit, and no ability to change our dates. We understand that businesses have policies. However, hospitality is about more than policy — it is also about empathy and discretion, particularly in situations involving health. The unwillingness to show even minimal compassion in a genuine medical emergency has been deeply disappointing. We had been excited to experience Saint Peter’s Bay and to return in the future. Sadly, this experience has left us feeling unsupported and disheartened before our stay has even begun. We hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled moving forward, as flexibility in legitimate emergencies builds goodwill and long-term loyalty.
We loved our stay at Saint Peter’s Bay. The accommodation was incredibly spacious and clean with two large double rooms, a well equipped kitchen, living space and a beautiful large sea view terrace with dining and separate seating area. The resort felt calm and peaceful but close enough to walk to Speightstown (15 mins walk or just 5 mins in a taxi) or the Sea Shed (10 mins walk) for meals on the days we didn’t eat onsite.
Natalie in the concierge team was brilliant and went above and beyond in helping us organise food stocked in our kitchen for our arrival, restaurant bookings and excursions. Service throughout the resort including at the onsite restaurant and bar was friendly, warm and attentive.
The setting is extremely beautiful with lots of space across 3 beach areas and we never felt crowded.
Overall an incredibly relaxing stay in a wonderful location and we’d definitely return!
