We stayed at Sandals Royal Barbados in February 2026 and had an out of this world experience
This holiday was special to us because we actually got married here OFF RESORT. Sandals gave us a VIP experience to say the least. Our room was perfect - it was in the south seas village area and it was very peaceful and quiet. We did not have a butler, but that wasn’t an issue for us. Yes the holiday itself was on the expensive side, but we felt we got an experience that matched the price.
I wanted to take this chance to thank Sandals publicly. From arrival, to departure, we had an excellent time. We were so glad we chose Royal due to its modern feel.
P.S. you have to take a trip to Oistins Fish Fry on a Friday. We walked from the resort. Such a good experience.
We just returned from our fourth trip to Barbados and have a wonderful experience. Our Butlers, Ron P, Shamara, and Benita... team 13... we're absolutely excellent. If you have plans for a butler on your next trip there I would highly recommend them. They were very accommodating but not overbearing. When needed they were responsive and helpful. Our experience was so wonderful we actually anticipated or talked about extending our stay but because I have to go to work we had to leave. We will be back very soon. Our compliments to this team and to the Barbados staff. I can't forget the people at the bar in the lobby and at the pool who also were impeccable.
My husband and I stayed at Sandals Barbados for our honeymoon and had an amazing time!! Kiara at the front desk was so helpful and pleasant! At the infinity pool we enjoyed games and trivia with Trey and Suki and Dj Dash kept the music vibes going! All of the staff were so friendly wherever we went which made our stay extra enjoyable. The food everywhere was great! We especially loved lunch at Neptunes and the sushi at Soy for dinner. The couples massage at the spa was definitely a must, so relaxing and great atmosphere! We also did the catamaran snorkeling cruise which was amazing! Overall it was a great week and we are so happy we came!
Loved our trip to Sandals Royal Barbados for our 25th anniversary, it was amazing! The resort is absolutely beautiful, big shout out to all of the hard working gardeners! The property is large but walkable, many pools, restaurants, bars, etc. You get the benefit of this resort and Sandals Barbados but they are just like one big resort, just a tiny walk way to separate them.
The staff were always friendly and helpful, a few that really stood out and made our trip wonderful, our butler team - Shanice, Denese, and Nicola, they took great care of us, you ladies rock! Kadri and Janelle at Butches Chophouse, excellent customer service, this was our favorite dinner. Nakem and Zaden bartenders at lobby bar Barbados side, these guys are so much fun and make excellent expresso martini's. Harriet at schooners so sweet. Shonelle A at Soy/Kimonos. Crystal bartender next to spices. James our driver from airport. Our house keepers (dont have their names) they were always taking great care of our room. All of the staff were great.
We did the Oistin's fish fry, great food and fun. Excursion was fun but long, snorkeled with the turtles, ate some local food and got to see much of the island. Got to see a family of monkeys on resort one evening, so adorable.
Your vacation is what you make of it, you can't base your experience on the negativity of others; smile, be nice and respectful. This was our 7th Sandals trip, first to Barbados, we definitely recommend this resort and can't wait til our next trip here.
A wonderful second honeymoon at Sandals Royal Barbados 🌴❤️
We visited Sandals Royal Barbados in August 2026 for our second honeymoon and had an absolutely wonderful stay.
The resort is beautiful, but the biggest highlight for us was definitely the staff. They were exceptional throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was helpful, friendly and polite. One thing that really stood out was that whenever members of staff passed you around the resort, they would always acknowledge you with a “good morning”, “good afternoon” or a friendly hello. It sounds like a small thing, but it made the resort feel incredibly welcoming.
A special mention has to go to the staff in the Club Sandals Lounge. They were absolutely lovely, so friendly, welcoming and helpful every time we went in. They always made time for you and were happy to help with anything we needed. They really added to our experience and are a credit to the resort.
We loved the choice of restaurants, bars and different areas to relax, and having access to the neighbouring Sandals Barbados gave us even more choice. There was plenty to do, but it was also easy to find somewhere to simply relax and enjoy being on holiday.
We made a point of getting out and exploring Barbados too, and some of our happiest memories were the excursions we did together. We had such a good time seeing more of the island and experiencing Barbados beyond the resort.
The sea wasn’t great during our stay, which was a shame, but obviously that is completely outside Sandals’ control and we certainly wouldn’t mark the resort down for it.
Our only disappointment was the lack of acknowledgement that we were celebrating our second honeymoon. Before travelling, I completed the requested information and sent our wedding certificate confirming the occasion. Because of this, we thought there might be a small acknowledgement or special touch during our stay, but unfortunately nothing was done. It certainly didn’t spoil our holiday, but even a small gesture would have made an already special trip feel that little bit more personal.
One of the loveliest touches actually came when we were leaving. When we were collected by the complimentary Sandals shuttle, the staff came out and sang a goodbye song to us. We thought that was brilliant! It was such a lovely and memorable way to finish our stay and we left with huge smiles on our faces.
Overall, we absolutely loved Sandals Royal Barbados. The resort was lovely, the service was excellent and the staff really made the holiday for us. It was a fantastic choice for our second honeymoon and we came home with some wonderful memories.
We would definitely recommend Sandals Royal Barbados and would happily return.
