Great

We chose the hotel based on recommendations from friends. It wasn't our first visit to Egypt, so we had a basis for comparison. The hotel was beautiful and clean, with plenty of pools, which meant the crowds were well-spread out. There were two large children's pools featuring slides and various water play structures. The sea was just a few steps from the hotel; the beach was clean and well-maintained. The water was knee-deep for a good distance—ideal for children or nervous swimmers—while a bit further out, it got deeper and offered a beautiful underwater world for snorkeling. The vendors were okay—the least pushy we’ve ever encountered at a hotel, which was a huge plus. There was a beach bar and a beach restaurant serving pizza and other foods like fries, pastries, meat, and vegetables, plus soft-serve ice cream. By the pools, they served hamburgers, as well as waffles and pancakes every afternoon, and there was the main hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There was plenty of food, including options for children, and à la carte dining (Italian, Greek, Mongolian, Asian) was included in the price upon reservation. We were given an upstairs room with a sea view. Unlike our previous hotel, which had two large beds, this room had one large bed and a pull-out sofa—a slight downside for us. Another minor issue was that the bathroom door was glass with gaps at the top and bottom, so everyone in the room knew exactly what was going on in there 😂 But otherwise, it was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely love to come back.

Beautiful hotel but not for us

Beautiful hotel, but unfortunately not for us

I’ll start with the positives, because there were definitely some.

This is a beautiful hotel. The grounds, pool areas and rooms are all spotlessly clean, and we had a swim-up room which was lovely. The only downside with the room was the open-plan bathroom. There was very little privacy, which wasn’t ideal when travelling with our 12-year-old daughter, particularly when she wanted some privacy. It was also far from ideal when some of us became unwell with diarrhoea during the holiday! A simple door or more privacy around the bathroom area would have made a big difference. The staff work incredibly hard and most were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. A special shout-out to Mohammed from housekeeping, who worked so hard and always left us a different towel animal — see the pictures! Waleed, who worked at the beach bar and main bar, was such a lovely guy and always made sure we had a drink. Ahmed in the main restaurant also always looked after us. And Ruby and Zain from the entertainment team, our fellow Northerners, were always happy to stop for a chat and make sure we were okay.

The fish and snorkelling 🐠

If you enjoy snorkelling, this is definitely the place for you. The fish were, without a doubt, the best I have ever seen and by far the highlight of my holiday. I spent hours exploring the reefs in the shallow water around the complex and they were absolutely stunning.

Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of rubbish in the sea, which I believe was mainly down to inconsiderate holidaymakers. I actually pulled a whole bin bag of rubbish out of the sea, some of which had come from the hotel itself, which was disappointing to see.

The water park at the neighbouring hotel was decent, and the shuttle bus ran every 30 minutes, making it easy to get there and back.

The negatives

Unfortunately, our arrival didn’t get the holiday off to the best start. We arrived at around 1am, along with around six other families, and check-in was quite chaotic. There appeared to be just one member of staff trying to check everyone in while also taking luggage to rooms, and I actually felt really sorry for him. Check-in took around 45 minutes.

When we finally reached our room, there was no bed for our 12-year-old daughter. We then had to wait another 30 minutes for one to be delivered, which was understandably frustrating after a long day of travelling.

Food and drinks

There was plenty of choice when it came to food, but unfortunately we found most of it very bland and lacking in flavour, and a lot of it simply didn’t look very appetising. We also tried the à la carte restaurants, but sadly weren’t impressed with most of them. The exception was the Mongolian restaurant, which was probably the nicest meal we had during our entire stay.

The snacks available between lunch and dinner were also disappointing — mainly greasy burgers and chips or crepes and waffles. Ice cream was available too, but unfortunately it lacked flavour.

The drinks were another let-down. Although there was a decent cocktail menu, the drinks were extremely sweet and seemed to contain very little alcohol. Everything was also incredibly bright and artificial-looking — the ‘apple juice’ was literally bright green! (See pics )

Unfortunately, three out of the five people in our group developed diarrhoea on day four of our nine-day holiday, and this continued for the remainder of our stay. We spoke to several other guests who had also been unwell, so it certainly seemed that there was some kind of illness going around the complex. Sadly, this had a significant impact on our holiday.

Being pestered

Another downside was the constant attention from the spa and watersports staff. We were approached numerous times a day about massages, watersports and boat trips. Even when trying to relax or have a sleep on our sunbeds, we were sometimes woken up to be offered something.

There are around five lovely little shops within the hotel, but unfortunately the shopkeepers also pester you constantly. I completely understand that they are trying to make sales, but personally I’m much more likely to buy something if I’m allowed to browse in peace. Being repeatedly approached actually put me off going into the shops.

The games room was another disappointment. $6 for 30 minutes of pool seems excessive for an all-inclusive resort, and I feel this should really be included.

Entertainment

The entertainment team work incredibly hard, so this isn’t a criticism of them personally, but unfortunately we found the evening entertainment quite poor.

We played bingo one evening, which cost $6 for one card, with prizes including a tea towel, a shisha and what looked like a fairly tacky ornament. It went on for far too long and the atmosphere seemed to die quite quickly.

On other evenings, the entertainment mainly consisted of the staff performing the same dances on stage for around an hour. There was a lady playing the saxophone in the bar one evening, however, and she was excellent.

The daytime entertainment was better. There was a foam party one day and inflatables in the pool on others, which the kids absolutely loved.

Overall

I can completely understand why people love this hotel. The setting is beautiful, the rooms and grounds are immaculate, the snorkelling is incredible and there are some genuinely lovely members of staff.

Unfortunately, though, there were too many negatives for us, particularly the food, drinks, illness and constant pestering, and these things had a big impact on our experience.

Sadly, it just wasn’t for us and we won’t be returning.

Exceptional Stay

Exceptional Stay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my second visit to Titanic Royal, and I can honestly say that my experience was even better than I expected.

My first visit was when the hotel had just opened, and I came back again five years later. What impressed me the most is that the hotel still feels brand new, just like it did on my first visit. Everything is beautifully maintained, clean, and in excellent condition.

Throughout my entire stay, I was genuinely happy and comfortable. I didn’t meet a single staff member who wasn’t friendly, professional, and cooperative. Everyone was always ready to help and made me feel very welcome.

A special thank you to Mr. Ali at the Reception for his professionalism, kindness, and continuous support.

And a very special thanks to Mr. Youssef, the Restaurant Manager, for his exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, and for always making sure everything was perfect.

The food, service, facilities, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere were all excellent.

Coming back after five years and finding the hotel as impressive and well maintained as it was when it first opened is something truly worth mentioning.

Titanic Royal is definitely one of the hotels I would happily return to again and again. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to the entire team for making my second stay another wonderful and memorable experience!

A truly wonderful experience

Where do I start....all in all a truly amazing 2 weeks experience at TR. This is the place of smiles, humbleness and outstanding customer service.ALL.THE.TIME. From the cleaners to the bell boys, waiters, front office, managers, beauty salon etc....every single person is kind, professional and helpful . No request is ever too much here! :-)

We are a family of 3 with a 9 year old daughter, due to a back injury my husband struggles to walk. Our pre departure request of a ground floor room has been dealt with very promptly by the Guest Relations ladies ( Eva and Kristina).

Check in was quick and smooth. Special thanks to John from reception for ensuring that my husband sits down as soon as we arrived, arranging help with the suitcases and allocating us a lovely ground floor room that made it easier for my husband to move around the hotel. If you can upgrade your room from Standard to a Swim Up please do so. Much cheaper to do it on site rather then booking it in advance. John speaks exceptional English and well as German and Arabic, he has impeccable mannerism and fabulous communication skills. Many thanks also for arranging all the little surprises for our anniversary celebration John, you are a gentleman and your input made a huge difference. Shukran ya basha ! :)

Restaurants/ bars : the staff is allocated in all restaurants on a rotation basis so you would see them in a different restaurant wearing different uniforms. They are all very well trained and offer an outstanding cuatomer service however I think that they are just naturally kind, hospitable and happy people working very hard & long shifts to give us tourists a perfect experience. Bishoy (314) looked after us very well whilst we spent time around the swimming pool, taught me some arabic words and sometimes literally read our minds that we are ready for the next round of drinks ( all of them tailor made to our preferences: strong - medium - weak cocktails)

Main restaurant: we ate here most of the time. The staff greets you with a smile , they remember your preferences and you get a table straight away. Good food selection and the place is really clean. The freshly baked croissants are to die for, great egg station , fresh salads fruits cereals etc. Special thanks to Moustafa ( 335 ). He is a special guy. Very attentive, always checked on us if we need anything and accommodated our fussy eater requests . Moustafa is really good with kids, he always ensured that my little one is happy and engaged with her in conversations or just a simple high five :-) The special pancake on our last day was the highlight thank-you so much it was highly appreciated!

Mongolian Restaurant: we celebrated our anniversary here . They surprised us with a cake , sang and played music for us. Really lovely touch thank you!

The Greek restaurant : a wonderful welcome from the manager Abdel and the staff! Nothing is ever too much for these guys, whether its a fussy eater request, extra chair, move the air con around for us...you name it you got it! Very attentive service, as soon as I finished my glass of wine it has been refilled straight away. Wonderful seafood dinner in a fantastic location! Abdel speaks exceptional English, as I am passionate about Arabic he didn't mind all my questions around the language and helped me a lot with pronouncing the words right. We had such a lovely time there! Alf shukr ya ma3alem :)

Italian restaurant: great food and fab service! All the staff is lovely , special thanks again to Moustafa ( 335 ) for making our dinner always extra special ( like a small flower decoration next to my steak;-) or running over to the other restaurant to get me an espresso. All of this with a smile on his face! Exceptional service! Thank you Moustafa !

Nia Beauty Salon / Spa: Najla!!! :-) this lady ...OMG! The loveliest purest genuine person ever! She is selling beauty services such as manicure pedicure, massage etc You will see Najla walking around the beach & swimming pool area wearing a white hat + scarf holding a folder. Please stop for a chat, have a look at the services you will be surprised by the range of the offer at a fraction of a price compared to the UK. She is professional, friendly and what I liked most is that it was not the " hard sales " type of chat. Her presentation and communication skills are exceptional, she explained very thoroughly every service / product. I booked a French manicure done with nail extensions ( this was provided by Maria in the salon, she has done a fab job everyone complimented my nails), 3 x massages done by Amira ( I swear she has golden hands !!) and a hair braid done by Mahmoud ( it looked lovely & lasted a long time!). The manager of the salon (Eman or Iman sorry I don't know the exact spelling) is very welcoming we had a pleasant chat and I enjoyed the welcome drink. Mahmoud from the spa reception greeted me with a smile every time and taught me new Arabic words :-) Such a lovely bunch of people !

Housekeeping: room cleaned every single day, fresh room and beach towels, beautiful daily towel arrangements on the bed. My daughter needed a mattress topper for her bed, rang reception at in literally 5 minutes it has been delivered ! As we had our anniversary they put a special room decoration on .Spotless . Perfect! Much appreciated! The toilets in the main building ( reception etc) are always spotless and it smells lovely. Salah ( 292) is one of the guys that maintains the cleanliness and tidiness of the pool area and surrounding landscape. What a great chap! Always a smile on, we managed to have a very basic conversation with my limited Arabic. He is so helpful whether its arranging a sun lounder , a pillow, cleaning up the cups or even helping carry towels inflatables bags etc. A little gem. Thank you Salah !

Day time entertainment: very limited interaction and not advertised well enough. The daily program is displayed on the back of a small shed so unless you walk around and look that way you won't see it. We managed to do water polo once, which was fun. 2 days before leaving I bumped into 1 of the entertainers who was quite new and finally found out about the program. He was very apologetic but I know its not his fault. Lack of training perhaps...? Winnie runs the day time kids club, she gave me all the info about it and pointed me in the right direction for the other day time entertainment options. She is such a lovely pleasant person to talk to, it has been delightful watching the joy on the kids faces when in Winnie's company

Night time entertainment: Winnie is in charge of the evening kids disco she does a great job. You can see that she truly enjoys her job and the kids adore her! The other shows are also great with some pretty amazing cuban dancers.

All these employees work so hard day in day out to give us a good time. If you can please tip. If you can't then please acknowledge them. Smile. Say hello. They truly are wonderful humble people who taught me a lot. Its not always about how much money & stuff we owe, it's about what we carry in our hearts!

A HUGE HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO ALL THE TITANIC ROYAL TEAM! WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!!
