SUNRISE Mamlouk Palace Resort

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sentido Mamlouk Palace. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained, with stunning surroundings that make you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. The staff are exceptional. Every member of the team works incredibly hard, is always friendly, and goes out of their way to make sure guests have a fantastic holiday. Their professionalism and warm hospitality truly made our stay special. The evening entertainment was one of the highlights of our holiday. The dance shows were amazing, full of energy, talent, and fun. A huge thank you to the entire Animation Team for keeping everyone entertained and creating such a lively atmosphere every day. A very special mention goes to (Zezoo)the craziest and funniest member of the team! Always smiling, making everyone laugh, and spreading positive energy wherever he goes. Hello Mr. Craziest! You made our holiday even more memorable. Thank you to the entire Animation Team and to everyone at the hotel for such an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to see you all again!

Excellent hotel excellent customer service with amazing entertainment team especially míša and Joseph. They were amazing with the kids and kept them smiling!!

July/August 2 week holiday. Family of 4, 2 children under 10 - family suite, block 15 mamlouk palace.

Overall, we have really enjoyed our first all inclusive trip to Egypt and a Sunrise hotel. We have been to Turkey & Spanish resorts many times and found Egypt met or exceeded our expectations for a family friendly 5* AI hotel. Mamlouk palace and sunrise gardens jointly share great facilities, good Egyptian hospitality, and a calm beachfront location for Guests to enjoy. The huge space means the complex never feels really overcrowded (apart from main buffet restaurants which is standard). Relax and you will have a great time at this entertaining, and picturesque hotel!!

After a 20 minute private transfer from the airport , check in was quite easy and reception staff were keen to ensure we were happy with our room allocation.

Guest relations - is your happy holiday team, found behind reception area and very helpful. Valeria helped me get back multiple lost items after I forgot to collect from the poolside the first day!

Room - very large with separate sleeping area. Requested ground floor Block 15 which was ideal as our kids could enjoy the grass football pitch. Rooms could be more modern and have better lighting but overall were very practical, gave us space we needed, good air conditioning and sound proofing. Night time music noise was never a problem as it seemed to stop by 11pm/midnight latest.

Activities - great entertainment program. Victor, max, Honda, Raul and colleagues friendly and welcoming. Sports options were great and enjoyed darts, volleyball at beach and family football on grass. Fit smaller 5 aside goals permanently would be a worthwhile improvement and make the football more of a daily activity. Table tennis is help yourself. Padel and tennis courts including equipment for free (if you can handle the heat!) Gym - excellent clean large gym, plenty of weights, and a rooftop cross training area you can use with spin bikes outside! Open 7 to 7.

Evening - always a dance show to watch, pool or beach party between both hotels. Really enjoyed the carnival night where other sentido hotels visit the site to join. Great setup in front of sunrise gardens hotel! Arena shows are run by a third-party. We found the Arena venue music far too loud and arena too warm to enjoy it properly with kids.

Food - Hotel buffet restaurant has plenty of choice. Most Enjoyed the special theme nights when there was more bbq and show cooking!

Spa - Egyptian massage was very good, relaxing and nice products used!

Buffet quality overall was good, most food was hot enough. Some food presentation and selection of salads, yoghurts and deserts could be even better but it’s good overall. Table service was good but slower and less during busy times.

À la cartes - these were a food highlight for the evenings. It was very warm eating in open air even with portable AC units but some like the Mexican were indoors so more comfortable. Great being able to book unlimited times - a real bonus when some hotels will restrict you. We tried them all and Favourite menus were Asian (has sushi), Egyptian (mixed grill), Mexican(sizzling fajitas), Indian (hint: butter chicken is spicier than you expect!).

Breakfast - we found d the atmosphere a bit less chaotic next door in Sunrise gardens buffet. Options are identical (gardens has fresh orange juice and table service we thought was better and more attentive) Lunch - shake & bake for savoury and sweet crepes or burgers. Egyptian, Spanish and Mongolia à la cart all serve lunch and kebab at the beach. Buffet had good hot meals if you are hungry enough for it! A big advantage to have so many options to choose from! *Coffee - important to have good coffee and mamlouk has espresso machines at most bars. Also great for the espresso martini! *Alcohol - found it to be fine for an all inclusive and local beer and spirits all ok to drink. Red and White House wine we also found ok for meals. Cocktails in both hotel lobby bars were the best poured.

Pool - large lagoon pool is brilliant and Jane does not feel busy given the number of guests. Only need to reserve before 8am if you want a particular spot that you prefer. Using the red flag from towel station was good and we were not hassled. Surnrise gardens waterpark open 10-12 and 3-5 is great fun for all ages.

Beach - very good and most comfortable sunbeds with wind shields. Note Hurghada had gentle breezes not very windy during our stay. Snorkel at the end of the pier at high tide before breakfast for best water quality and most fish. Big lizard fish and some lovely colourful varieties. You can spot stingrays cruising around the shallow waters as you walk the pier. Great to have two beach bars you can get drinks from.

Day trips - aquarium and sand city were both good choices. Aquarium has a variety of land animals to see too so a mini zoo but gets hot walking around of course. Sand city was very hot and not set in the nicest surroundings so didn’t need more than 30 minutes looking there. Private speed boat tour to see crystal clear waters at Magawish island and White Island is recommended (water quality at hotel beach is good but sand and silt impacts visibility so worth going to explore other islands!)

Feedback to help: *Building maintenance / modernising - with some investment, the Hotel will feel more modern. Some pool areas, bathrooms in room, for example will look better with some new paint work. Note that The hotel is kept very clean throughout and gardens are lovely and spotless too!! Litter on the beach comes from boats etc but is collected which is also good to see. *Restaurant table service - although it’s busy in peak season, it was a bit inconsistent how often waiters would check your table, bring drinks orders, set new cutlery, but the service was polite and acceptable overall. We often got our own drinks at the bars or tea stations. *housekeeping - suggest floor clean and mopping at least every 2 days instead of once per week as standard. *WiFi - intermittent when you are not in a main building / area. You lose connection or being able to WiFi call family etc sometimes. *Ice cream - introduce all inclusive ice cream station at the pool / beach. You can get machine ice cream at buffet restaurants. *Cleanliness - we found the hotel very clean and liked hand sanitizer all around the hotel, it’s good to see this installed at restaurants etc.

We don’t go to the same hotels twice, but the Mamlouk palace is such a good all round place for a family holiday maybe we will be back in future!
