General view

The hotel has a really lovely Mexican, comfy, welcoming feel!!
The location is right on the beach so with that comes some extra noise so be prepared. However the upside to that is you would walk down for breakfast & enjoy the sand beneath your feet & the beautiful outlook which is a fantastic way to start your day!

A very close, easy & super safe walk into to town & all bars, restaurants, shops & night clubs. All staff were extremely friendly, super polite & helpful especially front desk guy( forgotten his name:( & also restaurant staff went out of their way to please. 
We had a car & parking on site was also super convenient. 
Room size was great, comfortable & very clean.

Sadly often with a great location there is a downside & Hotel Casa Colibri is definitely super noisy at nights with karaoke bars & night clubs close by, so if you’re a light sleeper be prepared & bring some earplugs to use. On arrival we asked if we could be upgraded as I was there to celebrate my 60th with my son & husband & apparently the hotel was full yet we didn’t see anyone by the quiet rooms in the garden area so a tad disappointed. We were given a choice of 2 room, 1 by the front desk or upstairs & we chose upstairs thinking it would be quieter but sadly it wasn’t as it fronted onto one of the roads, it also had a musky smell being at the end of the hall. 

If you are sensitive to smell & noise possibly not the right place for you. Pressure in shower was sometimes also off so you had to time that well.

Breakfast was really average & underwhelming yet it wouldn’t take much to make it better, snacks served at bar were also average which was disappointing as the setting lends itself to so much more. 

However with all this said would I recommend the place…. Absolutely Yes as we enjoyed our stay immensely!!

Great value & location although not ideal for the super sensitive

A Truly Spectacular Experience at Hotel Colibrí!

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and friendly service at Hotel Colibrí. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The atmosphere was vibrant yet peaceful, and the attention to detail in every aspect of our stay was remarkable. Whether it was relaxing in the beautifully kept surroundings or enjoying the personalized service, we felt like we were truly on vacation. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

A Truly Spectacular Experience at Hotel Colibrí!

This is a cute little hotel right on the beach, very convenient to walk down to 5th avenue and all the swanky bars and restaurants that playa del Carmen has to offer, but it's super quiet. It's an older hotel, so the rooms are due for an upgrade and definitely need some better lighting as they can be quite dark. The best part of this hotel is the gorgeous garden of the huge trees and the beautiful Vines. Each bedroom has a little seating area with a hammock which is amazing. The lido bar and restaurant is wonderful. As others have mentioned, they do play music late in the night, but it really wasn't an issue for me. If you have your AC running and ear plugs in you probably won't hear it. 
Had their massage service. They came to the room. Set up a very nice massage table and gave me a 2-hour massage for what I thought was a very good price. Definitely recommend doing that!

Charming, older beach hotel with lovely gardens 

My partner and I stayed here for 10 days, we were blown away by the style and beauty of the hotel and beach club. On arrival we were informed of everything we needed to know, wifi in rooms and beach club was very good. The service was always excellent at Lido, the food and drinks were great value, very tasty and flavoursome. We paid a little more for a room with a partial sea view but this was very worth it and waking up every day to it was amazing with the little amount more paid.. (about 100 each). Seeing the sea with the palm Trees every time we looked outside was like paradise. The staff were excellent, and very accomodating and the breakfast superb.. great choices between Mexican, American and classics. The cocktails were outstanding… namely the Frozen Mango Margherita,  the Mezcalita and espresso martini to name a few were top tier. Some of my food favourites Included the Rib eye tacos, Mahi- Mahi Fillet, Tuna starter and Tempura Mahi-Mahi Tacos… they were excellent. When you stay in the rooms you get a discount at the brilliant Lido restaurant and bar too. If you wanted your room cleaned it was done to a very high standard every time by the maids. A truly 5 star stay.

Amazing boutique hotel and restaurant.

We had a wonderful experience at this lovely beach hotel. We stayed at the suite and this room was absolutely amazing. Beautiful views! The breakfast was very good and the staff was amazing. Thank you Hector, Alma and Karina for making this stay one we will never forget! Kind regards your friends from the Netherlands.

A perfect stay, just at the beach.
