Hotel and staff lovely food really not good one night it was liver and onions get that in a transport cafe need to change chef had steak one night couldn't even cut it  nobody really drinks there peaple only buy one drink pice of spirit so expensive 

Yaramar holiday 

This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel and it didn’t not disappoint at all. 
From the moment I walked through the door, I was made to feel very welcome and at ease. 
The biggest ‘wow’ was when I opened the door to my room…. Wow what a view !! This made my holiday. The room was newly refurbished and was beautiful in every way. 
If I was to pick a negative, it would be to say the body wash didn’t lather at all. This didn’t bother me as I was more than happy to buy my own. 
As a single female solo traveler. I felt welcome safe and comfortable all the time. 
I will most definitely be returning again next year. 😀😀

Wow 🤩

This was our first time at the Yaramar so it was difficult for us to appreciate the renovations which had taken place, the hotel looked rather tired and dated to us.
Our room was on the 9th floor and had not been modernised but it was a good size, spotlessly clean with plenty of storage space, a walk-in shower and marvellous view with afternoon sun. The food was awful especially in our first week but after lots of complaints it improved slightly in our second week but still not up to the standard you'd expect from a hotel like the  Yaramar. We booked our holiday with TUI who only offer half board so I would recommend booking direct with the hotel where you can tailor your board basis to suit yourself and not TUI. The reception staff were really good as were the maids, the restaurant staff Bearley made eye contact but Isla was great. The hotel is in prime location right in front of the beach with lots of eatery and cafe bars close by. 
I don't  think we'll return to the Yaramar which is a pity because you can see why they used to call it the premium hotel in Fuengirola.

The Loss of the Quiet Reading Room Many Thanks Again for reinstating the ‘Quiet Reading Room’ by providing two nice settees and two comfortable chairs added to the existing four card tables and games.

The Bar Patio Opening Hours Can anyone explain why the Bar Patio Bar is closed 30 minutes before the time stated on the website, which shows the Opening Hours as being from 4:30pm until 11:30pm.
Opening Hours means, the bar should be open and serving drinks right up to the bar closing time of 11:30pm, and not closed at 11:00pm. The guests, however, should be able to sit and finish their drinks at their leisure. It is a Hotel after all, the guests live here, it is not a Public Houseand  subject to different laws. The Bar Patio will then be closed and no more drink sold after 11:30pm as per the stated opening times.

The Continuing Loss of the Dance Floor 

I was going to say that this problem had been resolved. But Not any more.
On Wednesday 20th May, the four tables which were in the centre of the Dance Floor were removed, as suggested previously. This would have resolved the issue without any cost or loss of tables.
Brilliant, Great News we now have a dance floor, maybe not quite as big as the one we had before the renovations, but better than the 1.5m strip in front of the band. ALAS, THIS WAS NOT TO LAST. 
it lasted three evenings only.
The four tables were replaced by SIX NEW TABLES. Two Lines of three tables each.  
The Management replied to my review, stating that the Dance Area has been increased again, only to find that Two of the Six Tables were removed on Tuesday 27th May, only marginally better.
As of today, Wednesday 28th May, the third of the six tables has been removed, leaving one line of three
still on the dance floor (the area bounded by the dark floor tiles). Still smaller than it was when the four tables were removed a week ago, but I feel that this is as good as it is going to get, in the current layout.

I am not a person who likes to boast or complain unnecessarily, but when I see cut-backs without a justifiable reason. I have to make it known. I would like to make a few suggestions for your consideration. This may become technical, but it is necessary to explain the solution

When the Yaramar opened, a long time ago, it looked from the floor tile pattern, which defined the dance floor, as being within the dark tiled square and that the entertainers were in the same position as now.      A sound setup of two 50w mid range speakers, on stands, would have been quite sufficient for their needs.
But as time marches on, advances in equipment and sound technology have improved, and audiences and entertainers alike, would wish to provide and expect a higher quality in sound reproduction. This means that more powerful, and bigger and better sound systems are required for Bass, Mid Range and High Freq.
I have been employed all my working life in the Communications Sector, including Public Address systems, in local industry. In later life, and more so when I retired, over 22 years ago, we entered the entertainment business, working for Councils, Health Authorities and many private organisations for nearly thirty years. 
We are very experienced in working with sound equipment, havng our own range of sound systems from a humble 70w Master-Slave system, Two 250w Stand Alone Wireless Outdoor Systems with built-in power packs. To our big LD 1,100w and Bose 1,000w systems, Which we need when working in large hotels etc.

I am a member of two Internationally recognised Professional bodies, being a Member of the Institute of Incorporated Engineers which cover all aspects of Engineering and a member of the Engineering Council.

Now, So Much for the background experience, here comes the technical bit.

Sound eminating from a loudspeaker spreads out like a large fan shape with horizantal and vertical planes.
When looking downward, you will see areas to the left and the right, which are not covered by the sound. These are called ‘Dead Zones’, where you cannot hear the sounds being produced, or the sound is very low.
This is the horizontal plane, or ‘spread’ of the speaker. There is also the the vertical plane where the sound is directed to the floor and also upwards, as if the large fan shape was turned vertically, sending sound up the light well, to the bedrooms, as the plastic ceiling and open space on floor E will not absorb it or stop it. 
Guests in these ‘Dead Zones’, if the can hear the music at all, will find it to be of a very low volume and indistinct. If the Atists have to lower the volume, then the sound  will be lost in these areas altogether.
As it stands, these ‘Dead Zoness’ are as follows:- to the left of the speakers the area would be around the sliding door and the entrance. Not really a problem here, as there are no tables in this area.
To the right of the speakers, is a different matter altogether. The ‘Fan shape’ of the sound footprint would only cover about half of the tables, from the wall beside the stairs going towards the the reception. As you get past half way you will start to enter the ‘Dead Zone’. Because the Bar Patio is L shaped. The area round the corner next to the ‘Normally Closed Glass Doors to the Reception Area is completely out of range as it is hidden by the elevators.

Speaking of the elevators, and in particular the glass wall behind the speakers. This is not rigid like a solid wall but flexes to the sound and allows the sound into the Reception area, making it very loud.
Likewise the speakers are far closer to the bar than they were before the renovations, making it too loud

The fact that the Bar Patio is in fact L shaped, and bearing this, in mind, the optimal place to site the sound systems would be between in the crook of the L. That would be where those ‘New vertical wall lights’ were fitted, on the 27th May, and relocate half of the tables on that side which are close to the speakers to where the current dance floor is and where the entertainers are currently located. The new sound Fan shaped footprint would cover the main body of the room, right up to the bar and also all  of the tables in the half of the floor space under the lower ceiling, right up to the ‘normally closed glass doors’.
The lower ceiling would also blocks the sound from going upwards into the rooms, and being further from the bar and the wall behind the elevators would also reduce the level of sound going into the Reception area and the bar area compared to what is happening now.  

In other words put the dance floor back to where it was before the refurbishment began. The Music will also sound better, more softer due to the low ceiling absorbing some of the sound, making it more appealing to the ear. And No Dead Zones at all.

Just something to think about, there are more than enough power points in that corner. The tables can be arranged in rows the full width of the main body of the room facing the dance floor and the tables under the other half of those under the low ceiling arranged to suit the little alcoves.

This can be achieved at NO COST, Just rearranging the Tables. The power points already exist.

Update 2 Review of Hotel Yaramar May 2025

I have been going to this hotel,sometimes two or three times a year,for about 10 years.
I agree with all the recent negative comments. 
I cannot believe how much the standard of the evening food has deteriorated. 
I will not be returning to the hotel again.

Very disappointed
