Xewkija

Home of the Rotunda Church, Xewkija is Gozo's oldest village. The church itself, dedicated to St John, is an architectural masterpiece, showcasing a domed roof which can be seen from most areas of the entire island. The town is also home to Gozo Campus of the University of Malta as well as a range of other shops and businesses. The other main attraction nearby is the Gozo Stadium, home of the local sports team the Xewkija Tigers, and if you have the chance, catching a home game is a great way of absorbing the local culture.
